Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

A quick question....What is everyone doing as far as the bridesmaid walking down the isle? Are you having them walk with the guys or having the guys already at the altar?
Thanks...

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

Im going to have the bridesmaids walk down the aisle with the guys. Usually the Maid of Honor walks down by herself.

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

Our BM's will be walking down by themselves, and when they walk up the aisle, the groomsmen will escort them.

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

Our BM's and ushers walked down the aisle side by side, and back with arms linked, to symbolize the new unity of our marriage.

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

My BMS will walk down alone. The GMs will already be at the alter. Actually traditionally this is the way it was done. It is only 'recently' that the BMs and GMs were paired. MOH should always walk alone since the best man should be standing next to the groom. They will walk back in pairs but not arm and arm.

I hate pairing people up who do not really know each other. For instance my best friend has met Scott's brother for about 5 minutes. Making her go arm and arm with him ordance with him at the reception seems uncomfortable to me.

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

I am going to have the boys already at the front, including his sister who is the 'best woman'. My brother/man of honor will walk first and then the girls. I have seen, where the boys wait it the middle section of the aisle on the side, and the girls walk halfway by themselves, and then a guy joins up with them for the rest of the way. I thought this looked nice, but will probably be too complicated.!

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

I COMPLETELY agree with Michele31...

I am planning on doing the same exact thing. I hate the thought of 'pairing up' people. I don't plan on having the bridal party dance together at the reception either...there is someone always left out and it's uncomfortable. Just my opinion!

Re: Bridesmaids walking down the isle.....

We didn't have any issues with pairing people up. Patrick's and my friends were all well acquainted with each other and had a ball. I have tons of pictures of my bridal party hamming it up for 1 of my photographers while the other took family shots. They are hysterrical! When we got our proofs back we were laughing so hard we were crying.
So... for us, having our girls and guys walk and dance together was great! They enjoyed it and we would do it again in a second.
