Re: Bridesmain Dress Suggestions
We looked at Serafina (horrible service, beautiful dresses), and Here Comes the Bridesmaid (great place to look)--BUT wound up buying (I bought the dresses for my girls) via pearl's place online and saved a fortune. I have also heard really good things about Jenny Yoo.

Re: Bridesmain Dress Suggestions
A friend of mine was in a wedding last year and they got beautiful bridemaids dresses at Vera Wangs Maids store. If I remember correctly they were around $250 and gorgeous. I don't know the address off hand, but I think it's on her website.
Good luck!

highly recommend jenny yoo! the whole experience with them was GREAT. she's amazing, her studio isnt chaotic like many BM dress shops & all the girls loved the dresses and one is even wearing it again to a wedding next week. You get an additional discount if you order 7 also. i think mine were $250 ea after discount. Here's some pics: Pics

Re: Bridesmain Dress Suggestions
Thanks-- good to know that you had a good experience..
Do you think that my BM's should be in floor length? It is a Sat night, black tie affair.. but I like other lengths better I think..
I guess we'll see when we hit the stores..

I always heard black tie events call for a floor length......I could be wrong though.

Re: Bridesmain Dress Suggestions
RK Bridal wasn't scary. Crowded, but that gave me a chance to look on my own for a while.
My dresses came early, were exactly as ordered the staff was nice when I called too check on my order a few times.

I agree. I think it is fine to break the rule of long for evening, and have shorter dreses for a sat night wedding, but if its black tie, some of the guests may sem more formal than the bridesmaids.

Re: Bridesmain Dress Suggestions
I know I should go with floor length-- it's just that when you are getting a dress in a color- it is easier for the BMs' to use them again if it is shorter.. Oh well.. we will see.

i GOT MY DRESS AT RK AND I AM GOING TO GET MY GIRLS' DRESSES THERE TOO. I LOVED THEM. WHY DOES IT SCARE YOU?? TOO MANY CHOICES....
MAKE SURE YOUR GIRLS WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH ON A DRESS. I AM TRYING TO STAY AROUND THE $150 MARK IF i CAN BECAUSE OF ALTERATIONS, AND SHOES.. IT ALL ADDS UP..
GOOD LUCK

We're using Jenny Yoo also. And I agree with the above poster. It has been a very pleasant experience. She takes one appointment at a time. She worked with us herself. And we were offered tea and water while we tried on dresses.
This is the dress that we are using. (It's the Samantha in Steel Blue)
Thanks for all your posts-- very helpful, Jenny Yoo sounds great and the dresses you guys picked are v. cool. How is their green? I am going to be having a celadon/sage color- pending I can find the right shade.
I went to RK a couple of years ago for my bro's wedding.. I felt you had to wait for a long time and it seemed very chaotic. Dealing with all my BM's will be chaotic enough-- ya know? Maybe it has changed since I have been there-- I think it may be worth a looksee though if they have a large selection.
I have been asking my BM's about price- which I am very cautious of.. Consensus is that they would rather pay a little more for something they can def get use out of and wear again, as opposed to a little cheaper and that will just collect dust in the closet.

The dress style we chose comes in either shantung, dupioni shantung and dutchess satin in a large variety of colors. I wasn't considering green so I'm uncertain of the exact shades that she carries. When we were finished looking at dresses, she gave me a book of swatches of all the fabrics and shades they came in. She then gave me swatches of every color that I wanted for consideration.
ETA: I added her web site if you want to check it out. There are color cards on it.
