BRIDEZILLAS on Fox....

Original post by vickalina

This looks hysterical!! It is on Monday at 8 I think. It is a reality show based on evil brides!!! Gotta watch!

Re: BRIDEZILLAS on Fox....

I can't believe what I was seeing....Karen did have a pretty dress...the other dresses of the other brides I didn't care for. Miro I think was the bride that didn't kiss her husband....that was sickening The way the girls acted was disgusting....the amount of money for things they were demanding was crazy....even though I think that is crazy it is just the attitude behind their actions that made me sick. Karen is right to get mad at the W Hotel...a cocktail hour is an hour but she didn't read the contract so she got a 20 minute cocktail hour....the hotel should have provided more food and drink.

I agree with Jen. Karen was right to have given the banquet manager a piece of her mind attitude but should have spent more time reading the contract. I liked when she used the word sneaky.

The dresses were not as beautiful and the money that was spent was unbeleivable. I heard one of the guys say that it was up to $100,000?????? Insane.

I was laughing like a mad woman throughout the whole show though

:)

I wasn't home but I taped it. I will try to watch it later. I could just imagine what it was like.

The dresses were HORRIBLE. Sorry JMO....Would NOT spend $4,000 on a dress. What about the one with the frills on it. Not sre who it was, where they cut the top of it with a scissor, and put hideous bows on the.

i have to admit, i did laugh pretty hard at some of it. but it sure did make us brides to be look bad! FH just could not believe some of it. and we honestly turned it off before the end because it was just becoming too hard to watch. it definitely helped put things into perspective. i do NOT want to be that way on my wedding day. they all just seemed so unhappy and negative about everything, like they wanted to complain about everything. my whole point of planning like this is so that on the big day, i can sit back with my DH and just enjoy everything. and not complain or be negative!

FH says i am 10x better than that, but i do have my bridezilla moments. in fact, now that he watched that show, he has more ammunition. just this morning he told me i was being like Karen!? (i was !)

PS - i do agree that she had every right to be upset about the cocktail hour thing. if my hall tried to pull that on the day of, i would be ****ed. but i keep hoping that since i am trying to be so diligent about everything beforehand, stuff like that will not happen. but you better believe after that, i am asking exactly how long is the cocktail hour and how much food will be served!!

I kept asking FH 'What does Emmet SEE in her?' meaning the whiny Karen. The girl nitpicked and complained constantly. I'm surprised the woman altering her dress 1) didn't kill her and 2) didn't put in some hidden tear away seam to sabotage her...and Emmet was pretty gracious about the whole thing.

None of you mentioned Vanessa the Princess. 'Ooohhhhhh!!!!! This necklace is sooo beautiful! Can I have it? I love it so....' and wouldn't you know the schmuck coughs it up on the Rehearsal Dinner. It was uh, $15,000 (don't mind me, I'm just jealous). FH was like 'HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah right, don't get any ideas, sister.' Can you imagine? THat groom said he paid 20 times more (I think he meant for everything, including a down payment on a house etc) for this wedding than the largest check he had ever written - for a car.

I Agree that show was severely lacking and was extremely dissapointing---those girls made me sick-the money they spent alone was enough to feed a few small countries--they didn't even say that they loved their FH's-it was all just a big show-not once was love mentioned or anything about the sacredness of marriage-what a disgrace!

I want to know what the husband's did as a job because they were all spending major $$$ on these weddings. Those girls are a disgrace to brides everywhere. And the dresses were horrible. The only one I could sympathize with was Karen because if she's spending that much $$$ on a dress - it should fit like a glove, and the bra did make her boobs look squished. And the whole thing at the W Hotel -she was definitely justified for being p*ssed. I would've been fuming too because there is just way to much work and $$$ that go into something like this - and the place should not be giving out lil' amounts of food and drink.

JMO, but if you are paying over $90,000 plus for a wedding, shouldnt the bride to be e-ring be bigger.
Just my opinion

FH said he would have walked out on all of those brides. I coudln't believe the way they were acting. When they watch that show they are going to feel sooo stupid. I promised FH I wouldn't EVER be like that & if for some reason I do....I gave him permission to shoot me..LOL

Re: BRIDEZILLAS on Fox....

i am sorry i think 90K for a wedding is a bit over the top.

My FI said to me last night after watching the show he said 'Liss if you want a 90K wedding, the sky is the limit but it will last for 1 day, 5 hours of the reception and when the night is over we'll be returning to our cramped one bedroom apartment or we can have a 30K wedding, budget on some things and be a little extravagent on others, and enjoy the day and when its over we'll be returning to our custom built house in florida sitting on a raft in our pool holding the remote control while the hideaway doors are wide opened and watching the video of our wedding on our big screen tv'

and i said to Brian your absolutly right.

those girls were out of control. they were beyond bridezilla's.

my friend who just got engaged i love her, but she is definatly going to be a nuerotic bridezilla. i can see it happening.

brian wont let me get that way so i am thankful for that

That show was scary, not to mention giving all NYC brides a really bad rep. Not every bride here spends $100k on their wedding. Did you see the one wacko bride saying that every bride in NYC needs counseling? Then she started crying on the street? Those girls were all pretty pathetic, you would think that they would have been on better behavior knowing that they were being taped.

Those girls were nauseating. I wonder how many of them will wind up getting divorced. The show was good for a laugh, though.

Re: BRIDEZILLAS on Fox....

ok i agree with everything u guys are saying - i thought it was horrible the way they were acting.

BUT...

you have to realize that it was a hyped up tv show. tv shows are made to reel people in and make money. obviously if the girls showed any affection towards their FH's, it was cut out. the show was made to show biatchy brides to be and thats what it did. im sure they cut out any good parts of the planning process that were filmed. lol im pretty skeptical of the media as is, so i try to watch everything with a grain of salt. i feel sorry for 'em if they really are in love and we just happened to see some of their worst moments (which i'm sure we've all had - tho maybe not to that extreme!)

Re: BRIDEZILLAS on Fox....

Okay I am going to get reamed for this but here it goes..... If you have the money, I don't think that there is anything wrong with an extravagent wedding....

When I look at what we are spending for this wedding, I cringe but here is the way I look at this..... My FI is a gift from G-d, dropped in my lap with a big ol' bow around him... My future inlaws are beyond wonderful- diamonds themselves- and both are so precious to me! They are so warm and giving, compared with my parents who are and have been cold, aloof, and distant.... I have been totally blessed... If I had it, I would pay anything for that family if I had it to know how welcome they are in my life....

I do want this day to be perfect and can probably get a little bridezilla-y at times.... Just that one day should be perfect---- Sept 19 doesn't have to be, Sept 21st doesn't have to be either.... but the 20th---- It is celebrating the biggest blessing of my life.

Look at it this way... It is the biggest party you ever throw for yourself!

Re: BRIDEZILLAS on Fox....

I do think, however, that those girls were looking at the wrong things.... the food, the diamonds, the bracelets... the planners were the best.... Those brides were not focusing on the nature of what was talking place!! Making a best friend into family!!! That one who wouldn't kiss her FH. UGH!!!

And who are these guys?? Have they no spine?? My FI would hit the roof if I treated him like that.... He would call me a whiny little brat!!!
