Bridgeview brides....

Where did you do your hotel block? I know they recommend the hotels in RVC but did anyone go elsewhere? I haven't called Allegria in lb yet but I'm thinking they will prob be way too expensive.

Hi! My FH and I really want to book allegria but we're reconsidering since we have a lot of out of towners and the rooms are so expensive ($249 for a regular room and $700 for oceanfront suite). Plus the allegria makes you guarantee 90% 0f your block gets booked or else you are charged for them. We looked at the Long Beach Hotel too but the reviews are pretty sketchy. Even though it's not very fancy, we're going to block off rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Lynbrook. The rooms are affordable and they won't penalize us if all of the rooms aren't booked. Hope that helps!

Cairy- did you look at the Hampton Inn in RVC?? Stayed there for a friends wedding at Bridgeview and we all loved it

Caity - did you call The Allegria and that is the price you were quoted? I would try and negotiate, there business isn't that great.

They just redid the Long Beach Hotel, it opened like 2 months ago, and I have to say its really nice. I haven't seen the rooms yet but the lobby and bar / restaurant area are really nice. I am going to look in person since its a block away from where I live so I will let you girls know.

I didn't even know there was another long beach hotel! Def let us know how it is. That would be a big help! I didn't call Alegria yet but I figured it would be a lot. And the 90% thing is crazy, especially with those rates.

Greatest tip I ever received : kleinfeld hotel block service. Is totally free and they negotiate the hotel prices for yo u and find out about penalties or special rules the hotel may have!

http://www.kleinfeldhotelblocks.com/ my fh and I worked with Michelle (who is a saint for the number of times I changed my mind with hotels). And again it's FREE!

Uww definitely let me know what you think! Like I said, the reviews made me a little nervous to book with them

I def should look at Hampton inn too. Luckily, the holiday inn has no cancellation penalties so if I change my mind (lol... Again) we won't have any trouble. Thanks ladies!

Hi Girls!

I am getting married at Bridgeview next Saturday!!!!!!!! We booked a hotel block at Allegria and at the Best Western in RVC. The allegria does NOT make you gaurantee 90% of the rooms or else you have to pay. They only hold the block until a month before the wedding and then release whatever rooms didn't book back out to the public. We had some rooms not booked and were not responsible for them - it states this in the contract when you book a room block with them. They are on the expensive side though (I believe the rooms are discounted to $249 and non ocean view - they would not negotiate lower since our wedding is in their prime season), that's why we did Best Western as a second room block. The Hampton Inn in RVC was completely booked for a convention but I heard good things about that hotel as well.

Let me know if you need any other info =)

I did the Hampton Inn at Rockville Centre. The group sales person was really not helpful, but the front desk lady, Tia, was very nice and very helpful.

the breakfast (free) the next morning was really good too! They have a nice area for it as well. Rooms were clean and reasonably priced.

Maybe i misunderstood. This was from my email with kleinfeld hotel block (when i was debating between allegria and long beach hotel):

'The Allegria will block 10 rooms for 2 nights without a financial commitment. Here are your options:

1. Contract Allegria only and then have your ppl book really quick and once it fills they can add more rooms, hopefully the rate will still be available but that cant be guaranteed

2. You can book the full block of 25 per night at Allegria but then you will have to guarantee 90% of block

3. You can book Allegria the 10 rooms and the other 10 rooms at the Long Beach Hotel with no financial commitment at either and then add as needed'

So there is a way of doing it without having to cover the remaining rooms. But again, $249 is already very expensive for OOTers to do 2 nights. If the rate wasnt guaranteed after the first 10 rooms, i would have been nervous. But that's just me.

emmac did u ever check out the lb hotel? I was looking at reviews online. They were pretty mixed. I may go down there today or tomorrow to see for myself. I heard the bar/restaurant is pretty good.

I haven't had a chance was going to try and pop in there tomorrow. I'm wondering if the mixed reviews are because the hotel it was before this was not nice at all?? This just opened like 2-3 months. The bar is great especially on a nice day. I'll post the info tomorrow after I go

I used the Allegria and could not have been happier. I went with option 1 that you list above so we had no financial responsibility what so ever. We advised all guests they had to be booked prior to the 1 month mark and did not have any issues, even when we needed to add a few more rooms than we thought we would need. They were very organized (I had early check ins on 2 suites for getting ready and was worried about them actually being available) but everything was exactly how we had discussed and they even upgraded my grooms getting ready room. Highly recommend!!! We had also blocked off rooms at the Hampton Inn RVC as a more cost effective option for guests but nobody ended up booking there so not sure how they would have been.

I would say at least $100 per plate. I feel like that is the minimum for any wedding on Long Island nowadays.

Just an FYI, I went to the best western in rvc today. The entire hotel has recently been renovated. All the rooms have been redone, as well as the lobby and pool, etc. the discounted rate we were quoted for next August was $149. They have an Italian restaurant attached to the hotel that is willing to stay open to host an after party if you wish. It seems like a good deal and the renovations are really nice.

Also looked at the lb hotel. Rooms were kinda small. Outdated bathrooms. Rates were $179. Hope this helps
