so, I might go dress shopping again next week and my friend danny really wants to come with (we've been trying to go together for over a year, but our scheds clash)... but now that we both have off... I'm thinking, are shops ok with guys there? like he's def going to be all up in EVERYTHING! he'll be picking dresses, and putting them on me... etc.
so now a few questions:
have you ever brought a male with you? did he help you or just sit in the lobby?
FH went with me once, and that was an accident, we were at a mall in NC, 2 days after he proposed and we stopped in a dress store that also sold camile la vie so I tried some on for fun. but he was around the store and sitting down.. not in the dressing room helping me.

Re: bringing a guy dress shopping???
i dont see why it would be a problem for a guy to be there. They always bring guys on say yes to the dress
but seriously....its not like the guy will be in the fitting room....there are usually chairs out by the mirrors where guests sit and wait for you to come out.

Actually, at Paradise bridal, they didn't want to let FSIL's b/f in the back where the dresses were. Now this might have been his excuse to escape and go get coffee and a paper, but they told him he couldn't go back there.

Re: bringing a guy dress shopping???
I brought my guy friend (and bridesman lol!!!) with me to see me in my dress but they were a little weird about it because there was another girl trying onn dresses at the same time... but they are usually ok with it when dad's are there so I think the other girl in the room might have just complained about a guy being there when my friend was in the room.

see, thats what I'm scared of, that someone will say something.. or that HE'LL say something... my mother and danny together- what am I getting myself into.
the last time I took my mother to paradise she got pisssed that she couldn't take pictures, but kept saying 'THEY ARE'... (10 min later)... 'THEY ARE' to girls who were doing FITTINGS and she 'whispered' to my MOH that the girl in the fitting room next to me look preggo...
and now danny- yea, he's been known to tell girls they look 'HIDEOUS' in that outfit.. but he also tells them they look fab and hottness (or a hottmess lol) and will totally take over the store and be helping girls with accessories. (its a dancer thing lol)

Hmmm I'm not sure...I brought my guy friend to David's Bridal to go grad dress shopping w/ me and nowhere seemed to care...I could see some stores caring though.
But I know that I see guys on say yes to the dress sometimes

Re: bringing a guy dress shopping???
I would bring my best guy friend with me..I had dad(s) around when I tried on my dresses, but they were outside the fitting room so it didn't bother me.

Re: bringing a guy dress shopping???
since it sounds like he is very outspoken maybe you should call the dress store to find out their policy. my dad came in to see my dress on me but he wasn't allowed beyond a certain point because there where other people trying dresses on. which i completely respect. i wouldn't want any men walking near the fitting rooms either.
as for taking pictures of the dresses no store i have ever been to allows you to take pictures of the dresses until after you give a deposit. that's a known policy.

Personally, unless the guy I was bringing was gay then my FH would FLIP OUT!
I showed a pic of my dress to 2 guy friends and he got mad at that saying no guy should see it before him.
