Anyone bring their mom AND FMIL dress shopping? Or did you go mostly with you mom and bring FMIL back at the end? My FMIL has four boys so I'm sure she would love to come along... but at the same time I dunno how comfortable I will feel trying on all these dresses... Maybe I will go to one with my mom and see... :)
What did you all do?

For my dress: I only took my mom and moh.
For there dresses: They both want to go together. They get along great. Mind you my fmil can be my moms mom. She's 64. Mom is only 43.

Wow... I am not sure that they would want to go together for their own (they get along great as well!) I just thought it might be nice to invite her along since she has no daughters to go with herself... I think she did go with my FSIL... I'm just not sure if she went shopping or just when they went to order it...

Re: Bringing FMIL?
I brought my FMIL with me. she has 3 sons and this is her first and I really want to make her a part of it. We are also very very close so that's why I felt comfortable. She really appreciated it.
i just want to add that my Mom and MOH (sister) came too.

I would bring her but she lives in Florida! I showed her a picture of the dress I loved the last time I visited and she liked it though.

GN, I think I will ask FH and FMIL to come dress shopping with me. We aren't close enough to hang out on our own. But like your FMIL, she has three boys, and I think she might like this experience. Provided she doesn't nag me about my weight. Then we will have a problem!
For my dress I brought my mom and sister and FMIL (although I like her) she will go on her own for her own dress. My mom and I will be going back to RK soon.

Re: Bringing FMIL?
I plan on going with my mom and my MOH (my sister) the first couple of times, and once I narrow it down to a few, I will bring my FMIL. I just feel like in the beginning, before I even know what I like, I don't want to have too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak!

Re: Bringing FMIL?
Nutty, I feel like you and I are waaaaayy too similar.
My FMIL has three boys and wanted a girl for so long that since I'm the first DIL to come into the family, I want to include her as much as possible to give her the opportunity to do the girly stuff.
Problem is that my mom is like insanely jealous of her and feels like i always choose MIL over her. It sickens me cause my FMIL is so nice and generous and I almost do like her better than my mom cause this petty fighting from my mom's side just angers me.
So i went once with just my mom and next time i get down to LI I will go with mom , mil, and Maid of honor who is only 17 but really excited so i need that!

Re: Bringing FMIL?
I never brought my FMIL. Everytime I went dress shopping was always with my mom and my sisters (MOH's) and sometimes with my aunt too. And anyway my FMIL wanted to be surprised.

I'll actually be her third DIL by the time rolls around! I am thinking that I will probably go with my mom and sister first (MOH)...and if my aunt and cousin (BM) want to come down from PA to go that would be cool too... Maybe I will bring FMIL when I get closer to chosing the dress. I think she would really enjoy it!

Re: Bringing FMIL?
I take turns bringing people every time I go, so it doesn't get annoying (since Ive looked at 10 places) I brought my fmil once and she was sooooo happy since she has only boys. I'll ask her agin in a couple of weeks and then once again when I finally narrow it down.
beware: my fmil doesn't say anything negative (which is good) do not bring a fmil that will be a pain in the a@@.

I went w/ my mom. - I didn't want to bring FMIL b/c it would have been completely uncomfortable. -

Re: Bringing FMIL?
I just went w/ my mom. I'm her only daughter and it was special for us to go alone together.
However, my mom wants us to bring FMIL to show her the gown on of these days...

Well, since my mom past away, I have brought my mother-in-law, and honestly, even if my mom wasnt deceased, I'd probably bring her anyway, she's the sweetest!

Re: Bringing FMIL?
we haven't started looking yet but i'm sure the first couple of times will be my mom and then maybe once or twice with her.
she lives far away so i don't know how doable it is.
but she has two boys and who knows if the other one is getting married so this might be her one chance!
