ET has confirmed that BRITNEY SPEARS is engaged to backup dancer KEVIN FEDERLINE. Yes, the 22-year-old is ready to walk down the aisle again, but this time she's apparently going to take a more traditional route. Her 55-hour Las Vegas marriage to childhood friend JASON ALEXANDER ended in an annulment. Federline has been by Britney's side as she recovers from arthroscopic surgery on her knee, which forced her to cancel the remainder of her Onyx Hotel Tour. Marrying Federline will also make Britney a step-mom -- he has a 2-year-old with actress SHAR JACKSON, who's also currently pregnant with his second child.

Our STEVEN COJOCARU chatted with Britney last February following her first short-lived marriage. At that time the pop star said: 'Honestly, I really wanted to see what it was like to be married,' she revealed. 'Maybe that sounds silly, but, in that moment, I was with a friend that I love dearly and I wanted to do something wild and crazy and I wanted to get married. So that's why I did it.'

People magazine has the exclusive on the story and the couple is expected to do the a new interview and cover shoot for next week's issue.

Okay so i am like 12 or something but I do LOVE her! i know i know you would all *insert barf here* lol but i just like her. (sawry) I don't agree with everything she does in her 'personal' life but hey she is growing up in the public eye and a lot of what she has done (smoking, under age drinking) is done daily by many girls/boys her age but goes unnoticed because they aren't famous.

Britney Spears is a no talent moron.
There are soooo many more people with soooo much more talent than she has. She is nothing but a puppet of the music industry which has produced nothing worthwhile in eons. I can't think of one thing that she has done that even remotely impresses me. JMO

I can't wait til 2030 when she's on the Hollywood Squares top left box shaking her a$$ to the mock cheers of people who wonder what she ever did to deserve this honor.
