Broadway Show - Movin' Out

We went to see the matinee performance of Movin' Out yesterday - WOW - it was amazing!!! We did not want it to end....

First off, the tickets weren't cheap but they were available for this performance until recently - we bought them about 2 wks ago. I heard mixed reviews on the show and really didn't think I'd like listening to someone that sounded like BJoel, but in all honesty he was BETTER than Billy Joel!

What amazes us is that we saw the THIRD string of performers. On Saturday afternoon show was a whole other line up of performers, including the singer/pianist. When I read that I was thinking it wasn't going to be as good, but is really was amazing.

Obviously, all the dancers were great and I can't compare them to the other ones since we didn't see them, but I heard a few commericals with the regular singer on TV and I didn't think he sounded THAT good. This guy was amazing and nailed Piano Man

Not sure why some didn't care for the show - I guess it's what you're going into expecting. There was no dialogue - just singing and dancing, so if you're not expecting that maybe it's dissapointing? Regardless, we LOVED it and may even go back in the future

I loved it also, FH hated it! But I have to disagree, nothing can come close to the original.

Well, when I say better than BJoel I only mean his actual voice. Billy Joel is a phenomenal musician, and he's by far my favorite artist. Not really for his singing capabilities, but moreso for his talent overall in song writing, subject matter, etc. IF it weren't the amazing talents of Billy there would BE no musical to produce from his work!!

We only knew this singer was different because the one advertised looks so young like 25!, and this guy was probably in his mid 30s.....

Wow...........we saw this show this afternoon & absolutely loved it. FH also. The dancing was awesome, the singing was GREAT, as was the band. It was excellent all around. I definitely recommend it.
