Hi everyone. I'm new to this site so I wanted to say hello and ask a question.
I'm getting married on March 27, 2010. Our ceremony is at St. Clare's Church in the Bronx and our reception is at Russo's on the Bay in Queens and we're going to be taking pictures at the Brooklyn Bridge and promenade. I was wondering if anyone else might be taking pictures there too. Does anything need to be reserved before we go? is there anything important I should know about it?
My main question is wether anyone might have an idea of how much time we would need in between the ceremony and the reception in order to get the pictures done there, because there is so much traveling involved. Right now our ceremony is reserved for 3pm and our cocktail hour is scheduled to start at 7pm. Is that enough time to go from the Bronx to Brooklyn and then to Queens? If not, i can change the church to 1:30 or change the cocktail hour to 7:30 or both!
The only issue is that guests are coming to the cermeony from all over NY (Brooklyn, Staten Island, Upstate, etc). If we had a cermeony at 1:30 and our cocktail hour wasn't until 7, where would they all go?
Any suggestions?
thanks, Maria

Re: Brooklyn Bridge/Promenade
Well, it is probably easier to go from Bronx to Queens than to stop off in Brooklyn. So you will definately need travel time. It might be a good idea to just do the route yourself on a weekend as see. But I would give yourself at least one hour btwn BX-BK and one hour btwn BK-QNZ. The major roads between these points usually have a lot of traffic!! It might also be a good idea when speaking to limo drivers to make sure they are familiar with the route, because if they know the side roads and alternate roads (even like using a GPS) might be helpful.
You dont need to reserve anything at the promenade to my knowledge. its a public space. do you know where you want to take pictures? or do you just want to have manhattan as the backdrop? the promenade has a few cute areas -- like some structure globe thing on one end which is a walk (especially if your heels are not comfortable).
also - if you do just want manhattan as a backdrop and you dont necessary need brooklyn, i would recommend checking out areas in LIC. it might be a bit more convenient and save you on time.
i know i didnt answer all your questions. but i hope this helps.
