Brooklyn Ladies

Brooklyn Ladies

I had a long conversation with FH last night and with everything that is going on with my mother (she has been very sick for the past year and doesn't have much time...) I am afraid that if we keep the wedding the way it is, she would be able to be there. Also with it being so far away it will be a bit of a hassel to bring her.

We are thinking (have haven't truely desided) of having a park wedding and a nice cocktail party to celebrate here in brooklyn sometime during the warmer months of this year.

Can anyone suggest a desent place that would host a cocktail party that doesn't come with a huge price tag? I also would like to keep it in the bayridge/bensonhurst area.

You can try Sirico's on 13th Avenue and 81st Street. There is also another hall on 13 Ave and 65th Street that is very nice (went to a baby shower there and it was good) and not too expensive. The Rex Manor on 11th Avenue in the 60's. There is a hall on either Avenue P or U not far from 86th Street. Stay away from Micali Terrace because that has always been one of the lousest in Brooklyn JMO. Also try different restaurants, some have private rooms and will do a cocktail hour, but your best bet would be one of the halls.

Good luck!

The Riviera is not bad....I don't know if its in your price range or location, but the place is very nice especially for an intimate wedding and you get the hall all to yourself if you're looking for something smaller, try a local restaurant maybe.

Siricos is definitely a great place to start.
Vaccaro's restaurant on ft. hamilton pkwy and 67th has food that is out of this world!!

there is a small resturant on ave o and west 5th. the food is amazing. we go there for very special occasions. i have to ask my mom the name though. lol

The Riviera is beautiful, but may be out of her price range.

Thank you ladies for your replies.

I sent an email to the greenhouse cafe and tried calling siricos but no answer. Since siricos is on my corner i will stop in there during the weekend. (or if nothing is going on tonight i will stop in tonight)
Does anyone have a phone number for La Polina?

although riveria is a great place it is out of my price range. Since it is just going to be a cocktail party we would like to stay under 45pp.

Hello,

You should try Gennaro's Catering Hall. The place is very nice and the price and food is great. They are on 66th Street and 13th Avenue.

Good Luck
