I know that brown is a very popular choice for bridesmaid dresses. I have two questions.... 1. Do black tuxes look okay on the guys with brown dresses on the girls? 2. Is brown too dark for a summer wedding?

My aunt and uncle just had black tuxes with brown dresses and it looked fine. I think short (cocktail length) brown dresses would be nice for summer but if you go long, it might be a bit much. JMO

I wore a brown BM dress last July for my friends wedding. We had a salmon colored sash and she played off the salmon color for some brightly colored summery flowers. It looked fine against the boys tuxes. It is all about your taste and what you like

that's actually a good idea - having the colored sash. Just a plain long brown dress in August though - I'm getting a little warm just thinking about it.
