I was just wondering if anyone is doing a brunch the day after their wedding...We have a lot of out of town guests and I have been thinking about having something on Sunday, the day after at the hotel where everyone will be staying...OR do I just do welcome bags...or do nothing...thanks...

Re: brunch the day after?
We are doing a brunch the day after at my mother's house. We were going to do it at a restaurant, but I didnt want to put a time limit on when people had to show up, since a lot of people will want to sleep in. Also, I know every one will be more comfortable in my mom's home so we can kick back and lounge around all day.

Lots of people from out of town are staying where our reception is - and brunch the next day is included in the room price!

Re: brunch the day after?
We did a brunch at the hotel the day after & we did welcome boxes. Our welcome boxes didnt have that much in them just a breakfast bar, a bag of chips, a pack of gum & m&ms, and 2 waters. The brunch we had our own room at the hotel & paid about $20 a person & they did a really nice spread. We booked the Hyatt Windwatch and they did an amazing job. We had the most beautiful room with so many windows & it was great to see everyone the next day & talk about the wedding and just relax.
Very nice! I love the 'egg' to tell all about the brunch...I Know we are going to have something...I Just don't know what...hearing The advice helps...thanks.

My brother owns a restaurant (Tennessee Jack's in East Islip) so we will be holding a lunch there the next day for all of the OOT guests.

I love that OOT box with the egg invite. Very creative. We are planning on doing some sort of brunch the next day. Not sure where yet.

Re: brunch the day after?
well we're kind of having a mini family reunion the day after my wedding at my parents house because its the first time that alot of my family will ever be in the US. but after my sisters wedding my Mom threw a brunch at the hotel to say goodbye to everyone. it's a nice thing to do but not mandatory.

Thanks--by the end my DH was very into the DIYs and he came up with the 'egg' idea--he wasn't too good with the saying but thats what I am here for

We had a brunch in the hotel the day after the wedding. We put something in the Out of Town bag about it. The hotel provided the food and it was so good. It was really so nice to be with our families the morning after.

Re: brunch the day after?
We're doing really nice OOT bags, and the hotel provides a free breakfast for all the guests, so we're inviting everyone down at the same time to eat breakfast together.

My MIL hosted a brunch at the hotel for everyone that was staying there the day after. It was great, everyone had a good time and it was fun hearing stories from the wedding!

Re: brunch the day after?
Anyone want to share what hotels included brunch/breakfast?
Or even which hotels charged a 'reasonable price' for the breakfast?
We're looking in the Stony Brook/Port Jeff/MacArthur area...
TIA ladies!

Re: brunch the day after?
My FIL are hosting a brunch at the hotel where I blocked rooms the morning after. We reserved a private room and put together a menu from a list of items that the hotel offers. It's not necessary by any means. You can also just do an informal brunch at the hotel's restaurant - all meet at 10am.
