Has anyone ever been to or heard of a Sunday wedding reception brunch? Especially if it was held at either Danfords, Irish Coffee Pub or Chateu Le Mer. I was thinking I would do this for about 60-70 people, have a DJ and go semi-formal. Any comments would be welcome. Thank you.

I went to one, at one of your mentioned places. I thought it was a great idea. But the place was overbooked. They were literly moving tables for the afternoon party into the room before our wedding was cleared out. I felt bad for the bride. She was just 'pushed' right out!
Make sure you find out when the afternoon party is planned for...that it doesn't almost overlap!

When I was looking at reception sites, I noticed a few were offering this, so I think it's a great idea!

I didn't have a brunch wedding, but mine was early on a sunday. The weddding cermony was at 11:30 to Noon then everyone went to the cocktail hour right after. If guests got there early, they had tea, coffee and muffins out.

LIPrincess..I have thought of the same thing. I think it's a great idea! Did you try the Meadow Club or Three Village Inn??
I have been to Danfords for brunch, but not a brunch wedding. They have a very good brunch.

Re: Brunch Wedding Receptions
I have never been to one, but it sounds lovely! I think Danfords would be especially nice b/c it is on the water, and in general has a nice feel to it.
I went to an e-party at Irish Coffee Pub once and was not impressed. Have never been to Chateau La Mer.
Another nice place is Smithtown Landing. They have 3 buildings, and one in particular I thought was very charming - the Nisseqougue room.
Let us know how your plans progress.

I went to a brunch wedding at the Carlton in Eisenhower park... which was nice - the food was delicious, except there was no music so I definitely suggest a DJ.... by the time everyone ate there was no music and it was boring. But I think with music it will be lots of fun!

Great Idea! My friend just had one and it was terrific. If you don't mind traveling out east, the Cooperidge Inn is beautiful. (Baiting Hollow)

Sounds like a great cost saver as long as you are both morning people. Kep in mind how long it takes to get ready for a wedding. My sister just had her reception at Chat. Le Mer. It was AWESOME. The food was great, as were the views. Good luck.
