That was our original plan, but the earliest wedding my Church does is 11...so we turned it into an afternoon buffet instead

Re: brunch weddings?

I posted this on the other thread. We are doing the 4 month plan. We planned a quiet destination together and then my mom was dx with stage 4 cancer. Initially we figured a dinner with immediate family. His side was 50 people. So I went to look at ONE venue just to see and the rest is history. It's only because it's unbooked and close that they are doing it but we are having a Sunday wedding at de Seversky Mansion. 12-5 sit down lunch (3 course). I added a cocktail hour but we're only doing passed items not the whole shebang. I also added a chocolate fountain for dessert. I avoided the site fee by not using the ballroom and having complete run of the rest of the mansion. I guaranteed 50 but we're now at 115 invited so we ARE moving to the ballroom but since it remained unbooked I'm just changing rooms. Lunch or brunch includes unlimited red/white wine, beer, soda, coffee, tea, etc but not open bar. I am fine with that. It depends what's important to you. I can tell you that I am pulling off a REAL wedding at a beautiful venue with great vendors in less than 4 months at a fraction of the cost if we planned it ahead of time. HTH
