Brusies.. why don't they go away?

Brusies.. why don't they go away?

I was born a clutz. I have walked into, fallen out of and fallen into so much pain in my life. Heh.

Ok, that being said, I must add I walk ‘purposely’ as I was told. A ‘meaningful’ stride. Whatever. For a clutz like me it means when I want into something I generally don’t stop, so I walk THROUGH things as opposed to just into it.

I walked through a heavy wooden step stool in the house, about a month or so ago. It got me good. I had a bump on my leg and then later a very nasty bruise. The bruise started to go away but never really finished. I still have a dark area where I hit my leg. You can see a small part of the bruise. Looks almost like a shadow. It’s not noticeable too much, but you can see it and it’s strange (for me). A perfect straight line (the edge of the stool)

Anyone know how to get rid of this? Usually I recover from busies very fast but ones on my legs seem to take forever.

Usually bruises that don't go away are an indication that something is wrong.

Well it only happens to the buises way down my leg closer to my ankle. I've been on so many doctor appts it's been insane lately. Two of which had direct relation to my legs. Both times they said nothing as if it was no big deal. But i get a bruise on my thigh, knee, arm or anywhere else and they're gone pretty quick.

Maybe I have bad circulation.

Sometimes a bad bruise indicates a nutrition problem - like a vitamin/mineral deficiency (although I am not sure which vitamins and/or minerals!)

If it really was a bad hit you may have bruised the muscle as well as the dermis - it will take longer to heal because the bruised muscle takes awhile to surface and then it has to heal.

I would make a quick call to your physician just in case - they may not even have you come in but explain the situation on the phone and see what they say!

That's what I normally have! hehe Hence the preface of my tendency to be err 'powerful' in stride.

My doctor is constantly telling me Im bound to break a leg because the impact is usually very hard.

You can never say I don’t go all out. Usually when I walk through something I don’t even stop my stride. I walked into (rather he pulled it into my path) a guy’s rolling luggage in Penn once. It was heavy as hell! You could HEAR it hit my bone it was a loud icky thud sound. Followed very quickly with me cussing. But I didn’t even slow down, I just kept walking and cussing (but quieter).

That night the bump was there looks odd kinda of distorted on my leg. Moving my toes made the area tickle. By morning it itched kind of and the bruise started. It bloomed into a beauty by the end of the second day. The lump stayed around. Even as the bruise went away the lump stayed. It was a couple of months before that last odd ‘shadow’ bruise FINALLY went away.

I forgot all about bruising my muscle until you said that. I just don’t think of Muscles on my shins.

I bruise a lot too, really bad, Dr's say its nothing to worry about..some people are just like that, and Ive been asking for years....the more you think about it, the more you notice, so if the dr's say it's ok..no need worrying

I brusie easily yet I heal fast, I would speak tothe Dr. but after the other thread I am not sure you want to, If the brusie's are from walking into things then thats your answer but if it is from nothing that is alarming.
