Hey Ladies - Old Bride helping out a friends...
So my BFF received an invite to a wedding there..it says black tie.

While I beleive that traditionally balck tie warrants a long gown... do you think this is appropriate?

i think a cocktail dress is totally appropriate for black tie. as long as it's made of a nice material (not just like, plain cotton) it doesn't have to be a long gown at all. that dress is lovely.

She's buying it at a local boutique in CT where we are from.. but there are a lot of stores that carry that brand! They make such fab stuff
