B*tching: I can't say yes

B*tching: I can't say yes

I think I found the 'one' but I'm not sure. When I was a bridal consultant, I would tell brides 'Some girls know the minute they put it on, some don't. Either way is okay'. But now I am on the other side and I can't bring myself to say 'This is the ONE dress I will spend more money on than any other.' I want it to be as easy as saying yes to FH, but that ain't happening.

I kind of get the same feeling when gown shopping. I honestly wonder if I'll have that 'special moment' when I try on a gown and say to myself this is it. I found 2 dresses I love but I didn't get that moment and I wonder if I ever will! I might just have that complex where I always think there is something nicer. But.....I agree with you, I wish it was as easy as saying yes to FH

I understand totally! I tried on about 30 dresses and the 'one' was about number 20. For me, I am such a perfectionist and I wanted to try on EVERY dress to make sure i had the best one. It wasn't until i realized i kept comparing every dress to 'the one' that i knew. And when I put my dress on for the 2nd time, is when i knew! HTH!

I felt the same way, everyone else loved a certain dress, but i didn't have that 'This is the one dress' so I just thought I wasn't going to get it, but then I went shopping agian and I got that feeling, so don't settle.....keep looking, there is one out there for you.....

I am sure it will happen to you eventually. don't rush it. Last thing you want is to doubt your dress months later.

awww I haven't started looking for dresses yet, but I can totally get what your saying. Its a lot of money and you want to make sure its THE ONE. The worst feeling in the world is to have shoppers remorse especially when its something so important.

Maybe b/c of your past work experience you have too much knowledge on the topic and that's why its so hard for you.

Oh that's totally what's going on. I liked a certain dress, but when I found out who the designer was, I couldn't buy it. I don't have a lot of money for a gown, but the place I worked at sold very expensive gowns so everything in my price range feels sub-par. Most girls wouldn't know or care if their dress was silk, but poly really bothers me.

Then how about buying a sample or buying one second-hand? That can be a good way to save on a more expensive dress.

I tried that, went to Kleifelds. But the beading was falling off. Or the hem was dirty. I'm just being picky. Picking a DJ was so much easier, I don't know anything about that!

Crashing

When You know which one is the ONE, YOU WILL KNOW FOR SURE....
I remember when I try mine on...
I had already starting seeing in the computer since I saw it at a Bridal Showcase...
I kept looking n looking at it everyday on the comp...
Once i went for the first time, WOW...
I LOVE IT EVEN MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It felt for me that it was MADE for me...
I cried... and I imagine my WHOLE wedding in the dress!!!!!
THAT was my FIRST dress I try on...
But since I was open minded i decided to try on more n more (i think i went to 3more stores) and NONE of the dresses Made me feel like the first one...

Once U know, U will recognize the feeling right away

No your not being picky! Sorry I don't think its possible for a bride to be picky when it comes to their wedding dress (unless they are being totally crazy of course) its your wedding dress of course you want it to be perfect.
Don't settle for anything less then what you want. You'll find it!

we are doing a 'trash the dress' shoot after the wedding. my mom always told me 'when you buy something expensive, as long as you wear it twice it was worth it' with the trash the dress shoot i'll have to wear the dress twice

Re: B*tching: I can't say yes

The funny thing is that I nearly said yes almost every time to every dress I tried on the first day!! My mom laughed because instead of crying wolf as the old saying goes, I was the girl who cried dress!

Usually, I tend to make very 'emotional' decisions-- I go with my gut. Trying on dresses is an emotional thing so I think that's what happened on the first day, but when it came time to 'say yes', with this much money at stake, I use my head too much. Once I told my brain to shut up I was able to get something gorgeous and it totally helped me conceptualize the rest of my wedding (before that I was clueless about what I wanted my wedding to 'feel' like!). It took some time but it was possible! I hope you are able to do the same! :)
