Someone told me that they were allowed to use a cell phone in their room after the baby was born. I thought hospitals didn't allow that.Did yours?

I don't think you're allowed to use cell phone in the hospital - at least all the ones I've been too. DH plans on calling form a pay phone and starting a chain that way. Must remember to make sure he has a calling card!

Trish, you're delivering at Winthrop, right? They have a phone in the L&D suites that you can use to give your happy news to everyone.

Wow, I'd be surprised if that is allowed anywhere. I thought their usage affects some of the sensitive hospital equipment.

Yes I am Jenn - so I don't have to get DH a calling card? That's awesome, thanks for the tidbit!!
ETA: we are doing our hospital orientation, Lamaze, Breastfeeding and baby care classes there starting this month.

Re: BTDT moms:
FSIL just had her baby last night and she could use the cell phone in the hospital in Syracuse. It all depends on the hospital and what wing you are in... if there is one.
