Anyone have a Diaper Genie? I do and it was great for the first 4 months. Now this thing is vile!!!! I guess it coincides with him starting solids but the diaper genie has this nasty smell. I've tried soaking it, cleaning it, Lysoling it and it's still gross. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep it fresh? I don't let it pile up with diapers either so it's not that we're not emptying it in a timely fashion.

I dont have the genie- but the diaper champ. I heard/read on other boards that the genie winds up with some problems and it's costly due to the purchase of those bags. Sorry I cannot suggest anything except maybe a vinegar and baking sida combination to wash it out.

I have a Genie... I wash it out in my bathtub with lemon dish soap then I put baby powder in it. It kinda looses the poopy smell.

Try fabric softener sheets. Not sure why you're having this problem. We don't have a problem with ours.
