BTDT Moms -- question about furniture

BTDT Moms -- question about furniture

I decided on baby furniture and will be ordering this week. I am wondering how long you were able to use the matching chest/armoire that you bought with the crib.

Compared to kids funiture, it seems so much smaller and a lot more expensive.

I didn't notice that the dresser and armoir we chose was any smaller than the standard size... uh oh.... It should be delivered soon, and now I'm curious!!

We planned on our baby using this furniture for a number of years.

Um...we planned on Paul using his furniture until he's MOVING OUT of our house! The furniture we picked is full sized and not really 'juvenile' in style...the one thing I will do for him when he's a teenager, is remove the hutch from his dresser.

Otherwise, we'll probably just augment his furniture with a nite stand and maybe an armoire in the future. But, even his crib converts to a full-sized bed, so what you see is what he gets!

We are the same as Claud. Baby Alexander/Molly will most likely have this furniture until they buy their own set someday.
Our pieces are all full-sizes. The bed coverts to a toddler and then full size bed. I MIGHT end up getting one of those cute toddler beds since I love them. Who knows.

what does BTDT mean?

I never heard of cribs converting into beds - good to know!

Re: BTDT Moms -- question about furniture

our crib doesn't convert. but i figured there would be a good possibility that i would have one baby in a crib and one in a bed at the same time, so i'd need the crib to be free.

we bought a changer table dresser where the top comes off and the dresser can be used for years. our armoire is pretty 'grown up girl' looking. I bought both those items on potterybarnkids.com if you want to look at them

Our intention is to use this furniture really for years and years. It's made from nice wood, very durable, etc.

My son is 5, and I still use his dresser! He got a twin bed at 2 1/2 and it is the same color wood as his dresser, so he'll be using it for quite some time!!

Michele: I can't seem to find it online. It's driving me nuts. The lady told me it a new collection offered by BRU. I have to go back this week to check out the dresser -- they didn't have it up when I was there.

Look at the manufacture web site, not BRU site. That is how I found the images of my set.

I cannot wait to see it!!!
