baby wipe warmer. What do you think? Good idea or not worth it. Why?

That's why I didn't buy one -- and I also heard that it ruined furniture. The wipes aren't that cold anyway.

I have the prince lionheart wrap around wipes warmer. It is excellent!!! If you use the wipes daily it does not dry them out.
I bought this when Emma was about 5 months old. I could not believe I was putting the cold wipes on her. There is a noticable difference between wipes that have been warmed and ones that have not.
Now when I use wipes that havent been warmed Emma says cold and trys to squirm away. I feel bad for her...

Nay. I returned mine too. The instructions said it dries out the wipes so add water and may discolor them but that they are still OK to use. Not on my child its not OK. If you decide against it, try putting the wipe on your arm, your skin will warm it up or squeeze out some of the excess liquid, that will warm it up too.
Oh yes, it can ruin firniture. My SIL had one on the shelf and the little rubber feet made permanent marks.

kptoys:Thats the one I had put down on the registry. I just wanted to see others opinions and see if its worth it. Maybe I will try it out. I can always return it if I don't like it.

I checked out the stars and opinions on BRU before I bought it. It seemed like the best one and I have no complaints other than if you go away... unplug it!!!

I returned mine too - wasn't worth it to me. You have to think about what happens when you are on the go with the baby - you can't take it with you so they will have some cold wipes some of the time. I have found that if you take the wipe and toss it from hand to hand (almost like pancaking) it takes the chill out of it.

This is just my opinion, but this is EXACTLY the argument for NOT using warmed wipes....b/c there will inevitably be times when you are not home, and therefore do not have 'warmed' wipes, so why condition the baby for something that you cannot be consistent with?
No offense meant to Karen specifically....this is just a piece of advice that was given to DH and I during an infant care class....the same theory holds true for always serving the baby's milk warm. You cannot always warm the bottle [when you are out at a store or restaurant, etc.] so it's better that they learn it can be cold sometimes.
Again, JMO....but, I personally felt that if I held the wipe in my hand for a just couple of seconds, it took the 'chill' out of it enough to not be so cold, and I didn't need a warmer to do it!

I agree with Claud wholeheartedly, especially on the bottle comment!

I have the prince lionhart one, and I love it. I add wipes about every two days, so I don't have the drying out or discoloration problem.
