So I am an atypical bride. My FH and I have lived together for 6 years, we have 2 young sons and we recently purchased our first house in Sayville. SO we REALLY are on a very strict budget since we will be paying for everything on our own.
Pricing guides are nice... but they don't tell a whole story. Can anyone tell me some places that have great food, great ambience and a great price at 100/head or less? We won't have more than 100 people at the reception INCLUDING kids - so huge venues that have min capacity are probably not for us.
I had a couple of meetings at places that just turned out to be WAY too expensive for our budget at this point and I am not wanting to continue to spend time running around to places that are going to tell me to invite more people or spend $130/head. :)
Thank you!

Re: Budget
Maybe West Sayville Country Club? They quoted us... maybe $75? Also, smaller venues like Snapper Inn, the Riverview, etc. Or maybe a place that has more than 1 wedding at a time? They would probably have a small room for smaller minimums. Good luck!

Re: Budget
As I said in my FM try Villa Lombardi's on a Friday or Sunday. Try CLM or Riviera. Good luck!

Re: Budget
I am on a small budget as well... I don't know what's available in Suffolk as I live in Nassau but I found Stewart Manor Country Club (100 person min.) the Coral House George Washington Manor
to be among the few that were even remotely affordable for us. All quoted us well under $65.00 a head. Good luck.

Re: Budget
Westbury Manor would be a great choice for you. They are under $100 during the daytime, great time for kids 'cus you won't have them getting all tired and sleepy like they get at night weddings.
Food is wonderful and the ambiance there is great! I love their garden for pictures!

Re: Budget
I would recommend trying to have your wedding on a Friday or a Sunday if that is convenient for you. Also if you can swing a winter wedding that is a GREAT money saver. Those are your best bets for saving money.
Here are a few places (out of the million that I've checked out lol) that are nice yet still very affordable. Larkfield Manor (East Northport), Sands (Lido Beach), Verdi's (Westbury), Manor East (Massapequa), Riviera (Massapequa), Chateau La Mer (Lindenhurst). I was quoted pricing for a Saturday in May of 08 so if you do winter on a Fri. or Sun. they you will get great prices!

I don't know how far you're willing to go, but I went to North Ritz Club in Woodbury[?]. They were about $95, place was very cute. Also Leonards in Great Neck was around that price too, maybe even $85. We also looked at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook who wanted $95 also I think.. Cant remember too well, it was a few months ago. Also East Wind in Wading River, she gave me $120 but I had a friend marry there on a Sunday for about $80 or $90...
Good Luck!!!!

Re: Budget
a lot depends on what month you are looking at, the Jericho Terrace has the Oak Room which we had to give a minimum of 75 people, and depending on the month you can get it for a little less than 100pp

Re: Budget
watermill, carltun, george washington manor, the gatsby all have smaller rooms.
Good luck! We are on a tight budget too (very very very small wedding because of it!) You'll make it work and find something that fits your needs!

Re: Budget
I would suggest Timber Point Country Club as well... they're prices are super resonable and the min. is pretty low. I agree with all of the girls that suggest CLM (I love that place and planning on using them) but their minimum is a little more than you were planning on having. One room you must guarentee 125 and the larger room its 175. Good luck!

Re: Budget
When I visited these places, they were all under $100:
Chateau La Mer (only $75 on Sunday during the late summer) Woodnury Country Club Swan Club Villa Lombardi's Westbury Manor The Coral House
As many brides have already mentioned, afternoon and Friday and Saturday weddings are the cheapest. And you can always negotiate to get the price dropped a bit, even if it's $4.00 per head. Good luck.
