most florists i called had realllyyy high prices but my cousin and close friend told me to call Flowers By Burton because they used them and they said that they are really goood and their prices were veryy good. When i went to make an apt i was soo happy with the price.

I would decide on a total amount and then apportion. Depending on the type of vendors/wedding you want - prices range drastically. What are you looking for in a wedding?

About 50% generally is for the RH (unless maybe you are doing an off day/time wedding in which case this may be less than 50% of yur budget)

Wish I wasn't so clueless!!!!!!!

Re: budget

it depends on what you get from each vendor and who you use...photographers and videographers offer different packages at different price points.

Don't forget that most (not all) vendors can negotiate on the price...ask if they're willing to spare the taxes if you pay in cash.

Also, a good rule of thumb is to spend more on the things that will last after the wedding, ie photo and video. You can probably go with simple limos because they'll only be used for that one day and will only appear in very few photos.

Finally, don't forget that small bridal parties means you save A LOT of money...you have to buy a gift for each bridesmaid and groomsman, as well as provide a bouquet and boutoniere.

DJs I have seen quotes from 895 to 2100 for a basic package

Flowers, depending on the size of your wedding, I have gotten quotes from 1200, but Costco or Proflowers have wedding packages for around $700-$1000. If you want to DIY, there are also places to get 'weddings in a box' which will have around 400-600 roses and fillers, or whichever package you choose, and you put it all togetehr

Photo/video, you can find some photographers that are good for around 1800 just with proofs and a DVD of images, and videographers from around 1499 (these are what I have found). We are spending close to 5k here though

Limos, I have seen packages for around 1200, but one way to keep cost down is to have one car if you need one for you and FH, and the BP drives themselves.

Stationary, invites and such, you can do them yourself for fairly inexpensive, or I have seen some that were $1500 for 100 invites, then you had to order RSVP cards.

Hope this helps

The flower and photo/video quotes sound about right. However you can do Limos and invites cheaper.

I was quoted 1000 for limos and that was for me, FH and the BP, if you want to go in the same car with your BP after the ceremony and not get anything too fancy. (FM me for any details)

Also I ordered 150 gatefold invites for less than 500. They were custom designed and I dont have to put anything together. They will even have everyones addresses printed on the envelopes for me.

If you havent booked your hall yet and your on a budget try looking into places, like The Brentwood Country Club, that have all inclusive packages. You will save a bundle.

Re: budget

I would suggest getting an all inclusive package deal like from the Wedding Center or Wedding World. Ariana Studios has a package including the RH for I think 17k. I don't know if that is in your budget but I HTH!

Re: budget

depending on how many people you are having, there are several halls that offer complete packages for 100 people at around $10,000

Brentwood country Club
Ariana Waterfall
Plainview Holiday Inn
Mediterranean manor

All of these have inclusive packages. I know there are more, but I cant think of them right now

Perry's florist in ronkonkoma has there package prices posted online. Check them out they were pretty reasonable. I am going there next week to tweek the package a little and see what they can do for me, I was quoted 1900 for 12 centerpieces 5 bridesmaids, mine, 5 guys and 3 crosages. I thought it was a bit too high.
