Re: Budget
aww! congrats and welcome! flowerfield is awesome! we booked there pretty much on the spot and although our coordinator person we signed on with is no longer there, they found someone even better! they're quick to help with everything and the service is outrageous. as far as other vendors and things, it really depends what you're looking for. photo on average can run from 3500-6k easily. flowers seem to be about 3500+ depending basic dj packages 2500 and up. and the lower end of those, seems to be starting prices. if you're cramped on budget, see who will give you more for your money without sacrificing the quality. stay on here and everyone is always more than happy to help along the way and you meet with vendors and start to coordinate everything :)

Re: Budget
Everything depends on how many guests you are having, and what vendors you choose.
RH (Reception Hall): can cost anywhere from a low of $ 60/pp to $200+/pp. Factors that influence price is - 1- what hall you choose (Bourne Mansion is more expensive than say, Coral House). 2- time of year (April - Oct is peak wedding season. If you book Nov-February, prices are lower) 3- time of day/week (Thurs and Sunday afternoons are cheaper than Sat nights)
Photography: anwhere from $2500-6K. Video; anywhere from $900 - 3K
Flowers: depends on how many centerpieces (low or high), bridal party members, etc. I've gotten quotes as low as $800 to as high as $4K.
DJ: average is $1500-3K. If you add extras like Lighting, percussionists, giveaways, etc - price goes up.
You can also go with those 1 stop wedding shops..the ones that give you everything under 1 roof, like DJ/dresses/invitations/flowers/video/limo, etc.

Re: Budget
Congratulations! I also got engaged on February!
I'm also looking at venues and as for right now I've sseen 6:
-Bellport Country Club -Chateau La Mer -East Wind -Villa Lombardi -Flowerfield -Venetian Yacht Club
Chateau La Mer is really nice and as for right now is #1 in our list. We wanna have our wedding in May/2012 and they're charging us 110pp includind taxes and gratuity for a min. of 120 people. They also waived the ceremony fee since I went to their booth in the LIWedding Bridal showchase (that saved us $500!). They alsoo have a free Yacht entrance which is awesome! The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Flowerfield is lovely but too pricey although they're having a package for the winter time in 2012. If we decide to get married there it will have to be on February. I think their price is 110 pp (their centerpices are for free!!! which is awesome, u can also have a cake upgrade which include fondant-I love this because fondant makes the cake more sophisticated)
We still have to see Leonard's, and Chateau Briand, although I just received an email about a mansion and now I'm liking the idea of having the wedding in a mansion!
Anyway, just keep making appointments to see lots of places because u might like one more than the other and since this is such a special day for us, we wanna make sure it's on the bes possible place! meet with a lot of vendors also because u might be able yo save A LOT of money depending on the vendor and STILL get a very good product
Hope this was helpful...keep us informed on how it is going

Re: Budget
There is a great thread called how much are you spending on vendors. This should really help you put together a budget. I'm going to bring the thread up for you right now.

Re: Budget
I think the easiest way to start is by sitting down with your FH and deciding on a budget, then work from there.

Re: Budget
word of advice....(unless you're rich of course, or someone else is paying for it) don't spend a fortune on your wedding!!!! 3 years later and I'm still paying for mine (got about 9 grand to go) YES I loved my wedding and it was everything I've ever dreamed of...BUT in retrospect I would've scaled down on a few things to save! It's over in 1 day and the debt hanging over your head its not worth it.

Re: Budget
well Flowerfield comes down in Oct I believe. sats are the most expensive so if you're willing to do a sun afternoon you'd get cheaper.
Its a fab place. I've been to more than one wedding there.

Re: Budget
First off, Congratulations!!! My advice is to sit down with your FI and write out your guestlist. I did not realize the number of people we actually knew. You'll be surprised once you put a number on it! Happy planning

Re: Budget
thank you so much to everyone! ... yes we have a guest list of 250 people and our finaces in order. We are just trying to save on the extras so we can have it at flowerfield ... i know sounds crazy but it is just so unique and we are from way out east and nwe dont know anyone who has gotten married there before so we would be excited to give our guests something to talk about. We are going to try and get our price down a bit therebecause they are ridiculously expensive! Its so hard to do a different day of the week because of our jobs and also the time of year because of our jobs ahhhh there is so much to consider! I will be venting more often thank you all so much for your help!!

Re: Budget
Congratultions!
and totally book Flowerfield lol it's amazing.
They are very good with working with you on the price also.
I can tell you how much there preferred vendors cost, but as far as budget goes - I never really made a formal one - I can just give you prices of the vendors I've seen.. FM me if you want me to give you a breakdown of the Flowerfield vendors.

Re: Budget
I was quoted around $150 for a sat night in Oct at Flowerfields. My FH;s sister got married there and is still raving about it. I know they are more than willing to negotiate and if you get married in Jan. they will pay for some of the vendors.
