Hi ladies...I'm stuck on something. I use the wedding wire budget tool, and I'm pretty happy with it. But I'm also a bit OCD/controlling and a total visual person. So, when I look at my budget, it includes everything, even the items my parents are paying for. So, my question is, should I take those items out so I can see exactly what FH and I have to pay for, or do I leave them in, so I know the total cost of everything. Its something so little, but it makes me want to

I did both in the beginning, but now I just look at total to help me remember how much this is costing from soup to nuts. I think I'd be prone to spend more if I didn't think of it that way.
I have a spreadsheet that shows all the money from we were getting by family up top and then at the bottom had the total expenses to make sure we have enough cash to cover it all.

I created a spreadsheet in excel that tracks total wedding cost & then what my parents have paid for. This way I see everything - total cost & break down by who contributed.

I say follow the same format as the Wedding Wire budget and type it into Excel spreadsheet. All you have to do is add up particular columns to see what your paying and what your parents paid for.
