Re: BUdget

So far I under budgeted just about everything - my dress, tiara, and band - now that I've moved onto photographers, it looks like I underbudgeted that too. AHHHHHH!!!!

Re: BUdget

i am okay with the big things, but i didn't budget for a bunch of little things that have started to add up big time - table cameras, garter, guest book, etc.

Our initial budget was ridiculous - we had no idea what things cost. Once we got over the sticker shock of a few things and created a budget based in Long Island reality, we were pretty good.

Re: BUdget

I stayed within my budget. I am actually under budget. What I did was OVER price eveything so that when I had to pay bills, I was under. I also did not choose a place that charged 165.00 per person. I also have to say that I went to a wedding at one of these 'expensive' places and to be honest, I was not all that impressed. The meat was dry and over tenderized. I figure, for the money I am paying, my guests are getting a pretty good meal!

When we moved the date from 2004 to 2005 we increased the budget a bit because we knew we'd be able to afford more. But my new budget pretty much went out the window with the first thing I booked - my reception site. I don't how well we'll do everything else, but I'm finding out that I underestimated alot of other things that I thought I was OVER estimating! Sigh...why are wedding soooooo expensive???

Re: BUdget

I stayed within budget, but it was very difficult. And if there were a few extras that I wanted - it come out of my pocket, NOt the wedding fund. So I probably put in about $500 of my own money for a few extras.

As of now, I am about at budget. I know that by the time it is over, I will probably be a little over budget.

Re: BUdget

I did a lot of little projects for the wedding so everytime I would run to Michaels I wouldn't take out of the 'wedding fund' It probably totalled approx $500 or so. We never really set a stern budget. We just each put a certain amount of $$ into our account each month until the wedding. We ended up have a little over $2000 left after the wedding and used it as spending $$ on our HM We were so excited!!

Re: BUdget

We never really set a budget. We knew we wanted to keep the hall at a certain price pp including tax & gratuity - we're a smidge over that. We wanted a specific photographer & band - so the price of them didn't matter to us (they are also at the top of our list of importance for this event so as I said, price didn't matter). My dad and stepmom graciously offered to pay for my dress and mantilla - but I kept that under their given budget. The next big splurge for us, is the honeymoon. We're going balls to the wall on this so again, the price doesn't concern us.

As of now, with 325 days to go, we can just about pay for our wedding ...so we're just continuing to save...(we're saving for a house as well).
