Budget Bride Floral Centerpieces

SOoOooOoOo ... As we already know, florals are EXPENSIVE!!!! Especially when you mention wedding!!! LIKE WHOA!!! It's like buying roses on valentines day ... everyday they're $10 and on that day they cost $50! Mind you I'm a MAY bride and my wedding will be mother's day weekend! Just another reason for them to be crazy expensive!

So to the point .... Has anyone thought about getting the vase themselves and going to a floral shop to get just the arrangement? In reality, when you pay $150 for a centerpiece, you're mainly paying for the vase. Does anyone agree that it might lower costs? I was thinking about going to the city and purchasing my vases in a wholesale location. What do you ladies think?

I thought about making my own candle centerpieces but when I priced out the cost of everything plus shipping plus factored in the time of making them and the logistics of getting them to the RH i decided to check out a florist I went to burton's and they are super reasonable any 'low' centerpiece is $75 The cost of my home made centerpieces was about $50 each I figure I;m going to have about 10 tables to me is worth the extra $250 to have them delivered to the rh and not have to run around at the last minute.
Here is a picture similar to what burton's quoted me at $75

I can see what you're saying but Im stuck on wanting a tall arrangement. so i figured if i drop off the vases the day before or so, then maybe the florist that is making my arrangement can just essemble it? ugghhh i dont know!!!

When i first met w/ my florist and started throwing out ideas he mentioned it would be a lot more expensive for him to get the type of holder i wanted so he suggest for me to get the vase (or whatever we wanted to use) and bring them to him to fill.

In the end we changed our vision and he is going to provide the vase.

So yea - this is a great idea. he showed me some pictures of CP's he put together with the vase provided by the bride and they came out great!!!

Im booked w/ Flower Barn - and yea, flowers are expensive but he REALLY worked with our budget if you want to check him out.
