Budget help

I'm trying to do my budget for the rest of the details. Can you guys give me an estimate of what the following things cost, on average:

Limos (want 1 SUV and 1 rolls type)
Wedding rings
Invitations
Favors
Ceremony music

Also, what's the norm to spend on bridal party gifts? Does everyone buy their parents a gift also? And one more...did most of you find you were comped for your hotel room the night of or is that another cost to factor in?

Re: Budget help

This is kind of difficult to say because all of those things vary greatly depending on what you want.

Rings will depend on the material (gold, platinum, other) and if you want diamonds and how many. We have $1500 budgeted for both of ours.

Invitations can be $200 and up.

Favors - this depends on what you want to give. I've seen anywhere from 50 cents per person to $10 per person.

Ceremony music can be $100 and up.

I haven't looked into limos yet so I honestly don't know the range.

We are going to be comped our suite for the night of if we book at least 25 rooms in our block.

We're probably going to spend $50-$100 on each person in our bridal party.

We haven't thought about parent gifts yet, but we're paying for a large portion of the wedding ourselves so it won't be anything too extravagent.

My best advice to you is figure out how much money you can afford for the entire wedding and then go through and allocate money from there.

rings - they vary. you can get one for $100 or $10,000. Mine & FH's was $1600 together.

Invites - $200ish and up

Limos - $300 and up

Favors - $1 and up, I think.

We're spending about $50/pp for the BP.

Re: Budget help

This is really hard to tell you how much things cost.

Photographer: $900-$8000+
Gown: $400-$5000+

Total wedding budget: $5000-$100000+

You get the idea.

You have to set yourself a budget and stick to it.

I have a very tiny budget but I am have to compromise. No chocolate fountain. No horse carriage, etc.... That's also because we picked only what we wanted and because I have a very small guest list.

You can work with vendors and see what is offered and how they can customized to YOUR needs.

Re: Budget help

these can vary sooooo much....
-limos 500-1000 or more
-rings-depends on the material-yellow gold/white gold/platinum....diamonds or no diamonds....i would just look on bluenile.com or another jewelry website and see the pricing of rings you like
-invites-depends on how many, but for 125 i have seen anywhere from 200-1000! depends on the style/quality of paper
-favors-we are doing a donation favor, but i know people who have done very extravagant and very basic favors
-ceremony music....i know at our church is $200

my best advice is try and set a rough budget and stick to it

Re: Budget help

I'm on a very tight budget, but I chose to spend $850 on 75 invitations because it was important to me. We skipped limos to make up the price. I agree with the other girls, just set your budget & stick to it. Decide what’s important to you.

That being said, I think the most important thing you have from your wedding day is your rings. That is your 1 daily reminder for both of you that you have with you 24/7. I really think this is an area to splurge in. 10 years from now you probably will have lost touch with half the people that attended your wedding, and I doubt if any of them will remember if you had a Viennese hour, or if you had calla lilies or roses, but you and your husband will still have those rings on!!

Re: Budget help

I can tell you what we spent, and maybe that will help. but like the other girls said, it really depends on what you want.

limo- (I think $500?) I'm bad.
weddings rings- $800 for both
invitations- $700
favors- (I did a bunch of little stuff, but my wine bottles are $6 each)
ceremony music-$425
