budget help !!!!!!!

ok so my budget is btwn 8-9 thousand for vendors how do u suggest we break this up???

we will need limos or a hummer or excursion the bp is 16 people(including us)

flowers but i am doing my own CP's

photograher and video

wedding bands

idk if im forgetting anything

I have it like this...

If we do a band I figure between 6-7K

DJ 2-3k

flowers between 1-2.5K

photo and video 5K

limos... well, I have no idea about limos and a couple of hundred for my invites

but they're all soft numbers for now I am sure my budget will change 100 times between now and the wedding day

You need a DJ, invites, and probably want to set aside at least a few hundred for stuff that just 'pops up'.

Can you skip the limos to save money?

the budget tool on theknot.com is actually really good...you enter your budget and it tells you approximately what you can afford for the various vendors.

By wedding bands do you means your rings? If so, I say go inexpensive and simple for those...you can always upgrade later. FH and I bought simple plain white gold rings relatively inexpensively because we wanted to save some money for other things...it was our personal choice, of course.

DJ, Check out FM entertainment, they have a package for around 895 that covers the reception and cocktail hour

Bands, overstock.com has some beautiful ones, or check ICE.com, they offer installment plans and the rings are gorgeous

Photo and video, you can check with 12th night, they have a package that you get the proofs and a DVD, then make your own albums with mypublisher or a similar program. I have seen video packages around 1499, and others for around 2500, depending on what you want. We had budgeted 3k for both, but are close to 5k (We are getting a LOT for the 5k though)

Limos, not sure because I didnt price them, but some of the advertised prices have been around 1200-1600 for wedding packages.

Invitations can run anywhere from 100 for 100 to 1500 for 100, depending on the style and how many invites you need.

You might be able to save money if you just get a towncar for you & your parents, and have the rest of the BP drive? Its not the ideal situation, but its an option I guess?

this was about my budget:

we did
band: $2600.00
photo and video:$3500.00
limo (we onyl did one and it was a basic limo) that was about $400.00
flowers my parents did for us, but they were only $600.00--no centerpieces)

invites were about $400.00

i am probably forgetting things, but i really don't remember having tons of vendors, i think this was all.

ETA: we were broke, so we only did plain white gold bands... i think mine was $75.00 and DH's was about $130.00. NO more diamonds for me!
