I would recommend booking a place according to the 100 people ..we originally wanted 100 people but fell in love with a place that had a minimum of 125 and had a tough time getting the minimum..that tactic alone can save you a bundle ..
My total budget is about yours (with tips) for 100 people. I don't feel like I missed out in anything, prett much getting everything we want, just have to find vendors who are really willing to work with you. I told my florist how much I wanted to spend per centerpiece and she made it happen! We used complete wedding packages in east meadow for pretty much everything else and it save us a fortune, even gave us a discount on our invites. I bought a sample wedding dress at ny bridal outlet in farmingdale and even with alterations it's less than what most people spend. There are definitely ways to make things work. Figure out what's most important and go from there.

My wedding is also costing a lot more than we wanted to spend. We didn't want to go over 20,000 but are quickly reaching that number and we still need a lot more done.

Thats the part that scares me, how much am I forgetting about that is not included in the budget.
