We just started planning and like so many, on a budget. Briefly, I would like to know if anyone else out there is planning on having a buffet reception, and if so, where, and if you wouldn't mind me asking, how much is it per person and does it include an open bar? Thanks so much, gals!
Surprisingly, most buffets are actually more expensive than sit down dinners. (Since they have to put out so much more food)
To be sure, check with the hall you are interested in, but that was my experience.

You should look at the Swan Club. It is in Nassau. We looked there and the gardens were gorgious and the rooms were very nice as well. They quoted us a price of $41 pp for a 50 person wedding in Nov 2002 on a saturday afternoon. From what I remember the ceremony on site was about $600. These quotes were all inclusive, sit down dinner and open bar. They seemed really friendly, we did not go with them becuase they were a little far away for us.
