Bug Problem for Outdoor Weddings?????

I also asked on the BHB boards for brides who already had their weddings. But for anyone who is having an outdoor summer wedding, are you guys concerned about bugs, mosquitos at night during the CH/VH???

It's probably not unheard of that a bug or two might land on the food but I'm sure if it was a major problem the RH's wouldn't hold outdoor CH or VH's

There is a product (I think made by cutter??) or another bug repelant company...anyways, you can hook the bottle of repellant up to the sprinklers and you won't have bug problems for a few days.

I think the company claims it works for a few weeks, but really only for about 1 week. My mom uses this stuff when my family has the annual bbq/pool party.

I would ask the RH to see if they'll use this.

When I booked my RH the first time they specifically told me that there was a good chance for bugs/bees especially in august (which was when I was booking). I figured what's a few bugs...it's a daytime wedding so how bad can it be..it's usually around dusk that bugs are the worst. I wound up moving up our date to May (for non-bug related reasons) and she said bugs won't be a problem. Overall, there are no guarantees...from weather to bugs it's a risk. You could put bug spray in your bathroom baskets and get a few cute citranella candles maybe...that's what I'm gonna do!

When we were considering an outdoor wedding I found these

Off! PowerPad Lanterns.

- Repels Mosquitoes from an Area up to 15 Ft. By 15 Ft. (225 Sq. Ft.)
- Each Pad Lasts up to 4 Hours
- No Exposed Flame When In Use

I thought they were a cute way to keep the bugs away! I haven't read many reviews on them, but the one I did said they worked...

I am more concerned about the weather on that day. I'm scared that it will rain.

But you can get those nice lanterns from Home Depot that lights like a candle, smells good and sends away the bugs. I am not sure how much they cost though.

Dont think about the weather, bec you will scare me too, lolol. This past June 1, was beautiful weather and it gets really hot towards the end of May to June. Rain or shine its still a big day in our lives, its OK.

When I went to see a photographer last week, he showed me an album and showed me pics of the VH outside and they had TIKI torches, maybe that is a cool thing to keep the bugs away at night.

I checked out Home Depot for you. This is something similar to what I was referring to. I belive they cost 19 bucks at home depot. You have to buy the oil repellent for it and it goes in the lamp. It's pretty neat and the fire gives off an extoc look at night.

Yeah those are nice, I will ask my RH if they can provide them or I can just purchase them to have all around the gardens, thanks!!!
