Does anyone have one? Can anyone tell me more about them?
FH and I are obsessed with getting one as soon as we find a house. I've been looking up some info but would love to hear first-hand experiences!
Anything I need to know?

Re: Bulldogs...
My husband and i just got a female English bulldog. We did a lot of research. And yes, there are many potential health problems and upkeep on this breed. But we just couldn't resist and wanted to do it regardless. They are expensive!!!!!! I am trying to resize my pic to add but I haven't gotten a clue.
I have one and they are alot of work but worth it! All I can say is please please be strict with your training! they are very stubborn and more needy then any dog i have ever owned! I let him get away with so much that he now runs my house! If you need anything FM me

Re: Bulldogs...
DH & I were going to get an english bulldog but then we read up a bit.
I have to say though, I love them & think they are beautiful dogs, but here is what we found out through the vet & a breeder.
The reason why bulldogs are so expensive is because in order to breed them, they need to be artificially inseminated. The stud is usually too big for the b!tch to be able to support his weight when he mounts her & a vast majority of the time will break her hips. The artificial insemination does not always work & usually needs to be done more than once. Once the b!tch gets pregnant, the puppies heads are very often too big to pass through the birth canal, so a c-section is the most common method of delivering a litter of bulldogs.
As far as the health & training concerns later in life, almost any website regarding bulldogs will list them, but the average lifespan of a bulldog is 8-10 years. Also they are one of the highest risk dogs to develop fatty liver disease.
Although I do love the breed, and do think they are beautiful dogs, DH & I work a lot (sometimes 6 days a week) and could not dedicate the time to maintaining a proper excercise routine for the bulldog, and also we live in a 3 story walk-up, which also hindered out decision. (18 steps to the main floor, then another 13 steps to the 2nd level of living space).
