bummed

i just received 4 sample votices and bowls from mikasa to use as favors and im kinda disapointed. i feel like they're crappy :(
& I also just spoke to my mom about the slipper basket and im debating about not doing it - i have so much stuff going on and so much expenses that i dont know if i feel like finding extra activities to do 40 days before the wedding

what do you ladies think?

Skip the slipper basket. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where they had one, and I never said, 'Damn, I wish the bride had provided slippers for me to dance in.' Honestly, have you??

Concentrate on the things that are going to make your wedding personal and meaningful. Slippers won't matter.

can i ask a dumb question? what is the slipper basket for exactly?

i hear you on favors. I feel like because they are bulk orders it's going to be hard with how they come out. do you think they are worth what you paid for them?

I would skip the slipper basket. It's not a necessity. I've been to one wedding that had them and it remained mostly full.

I agree, skip the slipper basket.

Where did you order the votives from?

Never heard of them. What is wrong with them? What about putting vellum around it if you dont like the way it looks.

you'll have leftovers from the slipper basket and IMO you dont need to do it - if FH works a wedding that has a slipper basket at the end of the night he steals some for me b/c there are always so many left over

I'd say skip the skipper basket. While it's a cute way to bring in colors, etc, I don't want to have one. I don't really want to encourage everyone to take off their shoes...

Can you wrap your favors in a way that will make them look cuter? we ordered some sample favors and the ones I thought I would like didn't look as nice in person so I know what you mean. You can definitely dress it up though if you still want to go with them!

Vellum paper. It comes in different sizes/colors, etc. I have a pic of my memory candle with vellum paper around it. You can type on it and glue it to the candle (put ur names/date)

I agree. I am skipping the slipper basket.
-no one will notice if it is not there,
-no one expects it (while nice if you have it no one will complain if it isn't there)
-I am NOT trying to find slipper in everyone's sizes & figuring out how many to get of each size!!!
-people will probably forget to take them home afterwards.
-& as my FSIL said, the girls will just kick off their shoes anyway & the wedding pros will have slipper with them (matter of fact when my FMIL goes to a wedding she always bring a 'comfortable pair'

Hope at least that gets rid of some of your stress

Skip the slipper basket. I'm not soing one. I've never been to a wedding that's had it or I didn't notice that they had it. Focus on the more importants parts of your wedding.

As fo the favors, it's tough to get something quality when you're ordering so many at one. Try looking for another option if it really makes u feel bad.
