Bumping years old threads.........

Do you notice that alot of people have been bumping yearsssss old threads on BHB. I find this super super annoying. I want to help out but its like from 2003. Someone bumped a thread from 2000 and one from 2003. The people that started these are prob long gone now. Its like the bumper is talking to themselves

Does anyone else find this annoying?

I havent noticed that, but you know what I was thinking we shoudl do next year? We should all bump our first posts!! I bet it'd be funny!

I don't think it's annoying. I don't know how people pulled stuff from archives. Most of the people doing it are newbies and they may see the thread at the bottom and click on it not realizing it.

I like Mima's idea for next year!

It's usually newbies who do it, so I forgive them. You know how sometimes you're reading a thread, and it gives related threads on the bottom? Some of them are so old (and SO unrelated!) but newbies seem to jump on them.

It IS annoying, though, I'll give you that!

i noticed this too.
and i've almost done it a few times because i'll click on one of the 'related threads' underneath one i'm reading...
but i see the warning and stop myself from posting.

it only annoys me when i take the time to type out a reply and then realize how old the post is.

yeah I want to help out but the person that started it is prob married for years, has kids etc etc

yeah it happens alot and its funny bc then alot of others will start responding lol until someone finally notices and will be like, well the person got married 3 years ago so i think they found a dj already lol

I think newbies are the ones that's doing that...I did that before when I was a newbie...and everybody started laughing at me... I forgot what board I did it on...it could've been 07

its funny that you say this. i used to belong to a diff message board where people would get mad if you DIDNT bump old threads, because it led to the same qs being asked over and over.

i can see if it's someone asking for help though
