Do I need to get a program to do this? I have songs I want to burn onto a CD but it just copies the entire song. Is there a way to take pieces of it? Thanks.

Re: burning cds- can you cut parts out?
The only way to do that is to edit the original audio file.. The computer won't be able to skip over certain parts. Which song are you trying to edit?

You have to use audio editing software. These programs generally aren't user friendly unless you are familiar with these types of programs.
Some programs are:
Cool Edit Pro Pro Tools Shortcut
Edited versions of the songs that you are looking for may be available online. I hope this helps.

What I've used sometimes is 'Sound Recorder' on the PC. Mine was in Accessories->Entertainment->Sound recorder. There is not much editing you can do, but you can play to where you want and delete everything after or delete everything before. Not sure if that helps, but that program is pretty simple to use.
