Burton's Bridal

I am thinking of going dress shopping very soon for myself and my bridal party. My FH's aunt got married a few years ago and recommended Burton's Bridal in Melville, has anyone ever been there? Ive never seen it mentioned on the boards so just looking for feedback!

Re: Burton's Bridal

I was there a few months ago when I went with my FSIL for her florist appt and we just went upstairs to look at the dresses since my mom really wanted me to. I found one I liked, however, it was a size smaller than what I was so the consultant kept trying to tug it over my head and it got stuck so my mom helped me because the consultant was useless. At the end when I tried to take it off, it got stuck again and the consultant actually yelled at me for getting it stuck!

Maybe you will have a better experience than I did!

Andrea-
I have a friend that just went there. She used them for her dress, her BMs dress and the MOB and MOG dresses. She had s a good expierence, but I have not personally been there......

Burton's is a no-nonsense kind of place; they don't hand you a glass of champagne when you walk in like some bridal salons do, they are small but can get anything from any designer and a great price. I got my whole bridal party and my ceremony dress there and I was happy with everything.

Get out of my brain! I was just logging in to search for reviews on bridal gown shopping! I was there a few years ago with my MOH to look at BM dresses for her wedding-- it's a tiny little house and everything is upstairs. They were nice there and had a surprisingly large selection. We ended up ordering from the shop she purchased her dress at, just for convenience sake. Burton's staff was really nice and informative.

I liked Carol there. She was straight forward and let me try anything on. It's small and maybe not what you expect but hey, worth a shot. I liked it though.

I am using them for flowers and I have to say they seem very honest and reasonable. They beat all previous quotes I got, and were the easiest to deal with. I didnt view their gown department, but I would say its def worth a shot to go there! Good luck!

I went there for my bm dresses. They are very small but had great dresses. Unfortunately, I went with someone else bc they were willing to negotiate.

Burton's Bridal

About a month ago I began my dress search, just me and my mom. The first place I went to, I tried on about 7 dresses or so, all beautiful but none that gave me that feeling. The next day I went to B*urton's, my mom had heard about it from a girlfriend of her's at work, and tried on about a dozen dresses. There was one in this bunch that made me smile from ear to ear. I put it back on and spent about 45 minutes in it but I just wasn't ready to pull the trigger, so to speak. Carole, the owner, is very no nonsense. She told me flat out that this was my dress and she welcomed me back whenever I was ready. The next week was our engagement party, which kept me busy (will post pics soon). Two weekends ago , me, my mom, my cousin (BM) and her two daughters (JBMs) went to another shop so I could try on 'the' dress again, and a few others. Again it made me smile and gave me such a great feeling. We then, without an appointment, went back to B*urton's to try on BM dresses and I told Carole about the 'new' dress. She told me she didn't have it but she'd get it in for my Tuesday appointment. Finally, Tuesday this week, my sister (MOH), me and my mom went back to B*urton's to see 'the' dress and the 'new' dress. I tried them both on one more time to show my sister who hadn't seen me in any dresses so far but the original just gave me that feeling. Now 'the' dress is MY dress! I am so excited!!! I can't wait to wear it and I can't wait for FH to see me in it! I asked him how he'd like me to look for our wedding, his answer was 'elegant.' This dress makes me feel sexy, elegant, beautiful, sophisticated and every bit a bride!
Also, as far as alterations are concerned, the hem is $75, bustle is $90 (I missquoted on another thread and will change that now) and anything on the bodice is nothing! I will be adding buttons and loops to the back which will be an additional cost, but I don't know how much. I'm very happy with my experience. Sorry for the novel, hope this helps.

All this info is helpful because I will be going with my BMs to order their dressed from B*rton's. They've already picked out the dress. B*rton's gave me a better price so we are going to order it from them.

A friend/colleague recommended that I go there, and I was soooooooo glad I did. Carole is straight and to the point, which I really needed. I tried on easily 10 gowns and the consultant then laced me in and out of the two gowns that were my favorites, probably about 3 times each! It took me a bit to see that one was clearly better than the other... and Carole told me later that she knew that one was best for me too. They were very patient and honest with me, and when I go back on Tuesday to try on BM dresses, I'll be ordering my gown as well. I plan to meet with the florist department as well; I've heard nothing but good things about them.

For flowers or dresses nothing beats carol or mikes straight forward attitude and love for what they do. Carol is not going to sugar coat, if something looks better she will tell you and in my experience she has been able to beat any price. Hth good luck
