I had a similar experience there and left with my mom and MIL going....What just happened? I was really dissapointed and ended up cancelling them and also getting my deposit back. I know a lot of people use and love them....I just wasn't one of them. I was really upset about my sample CP; it was NOTHING like what we had discussed so I went with my gut and used someone else.

Re: Burtons flowers ???

wow that sounds wacky.....we booked yesterday with Stefan's flowers in cedarhurst..........
one of his first questions is what flower(s) i wanted....i wanted roses......and he worked from there...also considering my dress as well. you should DEFINITELY pick the flower YOU want, the styles YOU want and it should be everything YOU want.....YOU are paying for it and it's YOUR wedding. i've heard these guys recommended by dozens of girls (burtons) but not one has actually been married yet! so really their rec's mean little more than pricing...as does mine i suppose, but i felt sooo in control of my bouquets...he described and skethced out (kind of crudely, but still...) my bouquet and it was everything i'd envisioned....then when we got to the BMs, he started to offer suggestions and i interupted him with my ideas....he stopped talking, and wrote down everything i said. the only thing we're doing differently than i'd considered is that he will use the 'cuttings' from the girls' dresses to tie around their stems....so that it is a perfect match! i had never even thought of that!

I am using Burton's and my contract states that I can use any flower that I want too. I am using Peonies. He told me they can do whatever I want with any flower and that I can even bring them pictures of anything that I like. That's the first I heard of Burton's doing that.

When I went to Burtons he was wishy washy about doing the cake when I asked and he also told me that b/c I'm getting married on a Sunday it would be easier for him if he dropped my church flowers off at my house with the boKs and I had someone set the church up. He would teach me how to set up the bows. I was like Thanks, but no thanks.

What? It's not really a DYI project. And how would you transport all the flowers? It's great that it's 'convenient' for HIM. I would walk away too. Last thing you want to do when you are getting ready is set up flowers.
