Burtons Flowers

I am meeting with Burtons tomorrow morningand i know a lot of you girls on here have used them, are using them or met with them. If you can give me an ida of what to expect that would be great, especially what you were quoted! are all in season flower the same price? do they help you create a centerpiece right there on the spot? who did you meet with, were they helpful? thanks!

Re: Burtons Flowers

Hi there,

I did not ultimately go with Burton's but I did check them out 2 weeks ago. They are very nice but very to the point. They will give you a price for high, for low, and for the bouquets, etc. regardless of flower type and they will let you know what's in season (I'm in May so they said I could get any flower out there). My disappointment, and why I didn't book with them, is that they didn't have any real flowers on display (only silk ones), and we realized once we left that we didn't even ask to see a portfolio (more our fault, but still....I'd like to see them display SOME pride!)! At this first appt, which was more about getting the estimate, they really couldn't care less what my vision was (though they were nice about it - they just said that they don't talk specifics until it's closer), which made me uneasy as to whether they were capable or not of seeing my vision in the first place. 'Getting me' and getting my vision, hearing that I was heard, and being understood was a major criteria in choosing florists, and they didn't allow the opportunity to put themselves on for that judgment. They probably would have created what I wanted, but I wanted them to SHOW me their understanding!

They were cheaper than who we ultimately went with (Pedestals), but honestly, not so much cheaper. Burton's sort of made it easy for us to decide to go with Pedestals as Ped. blew us away in terms of wanting to hear my vision and elaborate upon it.

Also, fyi, you can't enter on Walt Whitman Road itself. You have to go behind the triangle to Old Walt Whitman Road. We parked across the street - just watch out for dog doodie when you get out of the car!

I had a very similar experience as cavvento (minus the dog doodie) but my pedestals quote was about $700 higher. needless to say, i will book with burtons and deal with the no frills attitude. i know that i need to articulate to them exaclty what i want and they will fulfill it.

Re: Burtons Flowers

We are using Burtons, I finalized with them today actually. I love them! I am dealing with Mike and only Mike. He's really great. I am not doing flower centerpieces so I can't answer those questions sorry. I know that they don't charge for the men's boutineres. For the bride's bo-k, 1 MOH, 3 BM's, 1 flower girl, 2 mom's corsages and a ton of boutineres we're paying $579 I think. It was a $50 deposit. Feel free to FM any questions.

My quote was a little less but we added a bridesmaid and I know it added $40.

The flowers are the same price no matter what they are I was told.

EDA: That also includes I think $150 worth of ceremony decorations and travel and stuff but it gives you an idea.

I have 3-4 friends who have used them and they all have had great experiences. I don't think you would have anything to worry about.
