Bustle for cathedral trains

My dress has a long, heavy cathedral train. The bustle loops look too flimsy to hold up and KEEP UP the train.

A little history -- My dress has been in storage for 7 years (for a wedding that didn't happen, long story). I am going to have it altered againbefore I get married (it's a little big).

My question is -- do any of you have long and heavy trains? What kind of bustle do they do? I really really hope they can do something besides these thread loops that are on it right now. Any suggestions?????

Re: Bustle for cathedral trains

I had a royal cathedral train which was very heavy too. MY train did not bustle because it was detachable. It was the best thing to have a detachable train.

Re: Bustle for cathedral trains

I plan on getting an underbustle (the train is bustled underneath so it looks like a ball gown once it is bustled.)

Re: Bustle for cathedral trains

Mine is somewhere between chapel and cathedral length. I'm going ot have them do a double french bustle, which is a french bustle twice, one a little higher than normal, one a little lower then normal. I've seen it and it looks GORGEOUS and that should hold the weight of such a long train.
