Bustle Question...
I'm clueless here. I'm going for my 1st fitting Saturday and I'm going to have my seamstress make a bustle - and I *know* there are several ways to do it. Can anyone tell me what the names are and what it looks like??? EEK. Thanks! :)

Bustle Question...(little long)
Good luck! This was one of the things that stressed me out the most. One thing to be aware of - the style of your bustle is dictated by your dress style. I wanted a bustle that fastens underneath, but it was not possible b/c you wouldn't be able to see all of the detail on the back of my dress. One thing to be clear on - which ever way they fasten your bustle, always insist on extra buttons to hold it in place. Buttons are the best! Do not use hooks, b/c they do not stay! My cousin's train (which was detachable anyway) started to come off as she was lighting her unity candle during the ceremony. Good luck.

Bustle Question...(little long)
What I did was look through Bridal Magsazines and got a good idea from that. The I showed the seamstress and she knew right away what I wanted. I know that the designer 'Pucci' is famous for their style bustle and that's basically what I'm having done. Hope this helps :)

The bustle I had was with ribbons. They sewed fabric loops to the back of the dress and then it joinded and hooked on a button. DO NOT LET THEM DO IT LIKE THIS. It will rip. Someone stepped on my gown and it ripped one of the loops out ... and tore my dress a little. Just make sure you communicate with whoever is goind the bustle and make sure you get A) what you want adn B) it will hold up the entire day

Make sure you have the bridal person show you how it will look in a few different bustles....my lady pinned mine a few different ways. my dress has detail down the whole length of the back and train and she did this cool thing (that i have never seen before) where it is bustled up but it does not take away from the design at all. make sure they show you a few ideas!!!

I had a bustle in the back of my A-Line dress but the sides looked frumpy. So we got creative and we had her add 3 buttons along each side so it pinned 'back'. I'll hopefully have pics to post online soon, but Don't be afraid to ask questions and make sure you like how it looks! It's your day and you deserve to wear the dress you bought the way you want to.Welcome New Vendors
