This may sound silly, but if you have your dresssed bustled by the seamstress, can you still let it out for the ceremony and then re-bustle it for cocktail hr/reception? I'm in love with my train and dont want it cut.

Ok, first, Jaime Lin is right, you can take it up and put it down as much as you want. But, to your point of you thought they were going to chop off your train, I had that exact dream. I dreamt that when I went for my first fitting they had the wrong dress but I put it on anyway and when I asked her to bustle it, she just cut the train right off!! It was horrifying!!!
Try to ask for a 'French' bustle. Its done with ribbons rather than loop and hook. Its MUCH more secure.

I joust went for my 2nd fitting yesterday and I got a french bustle and it looks amazing .no buttons just loops and ties..I'm in love with my dress and my bustle
