Is everyone bustling their dress after the ceremony or after the first dance. I am wondering if it will get annoying when dancing and then also if I leave it till after the first dance when will I duck out to bustle? I don't want to miss anything.
One more question-how is everyones bustled? Buttons, ribbons, hooks and eye? Is it a french bustle or the kind that goes on top of the dress. So far mine is a low 3 tier french buslte that is tied with ribbons. I kinda think it is going to be hard for my girls to help me tie though...hmmm
So many questions??

Re: Bustles??
Mine was five buttons (but should have been six) and I bustled when I arrived @ Danford's before the cocktail hour.

Mine was 3 buttons at the waist. I bustled it after the ceremony...I would have fallen on my face walking around the cocktail hour

Re: Bustles??
mine was a french bustle with ties... but they had me walk with it draped over my arm for the cocktail hour... then looped it on my finger for first dance. Then it was bustled (incorrectly by BA) after the first dance.

Re: Bustles??
My dress has a small train (see avatar) so it will be a french bustle. I plan to bustle afetr the ceremony.

Re: Bustles??
I hear ya jimmys bride, but it seems that most do it before the cocktail hour. I think that seems best. Although I honestly don't have a very long train, that's why my bustle is so low. Ok so after the ceremony and pics and before the cocktail hour (if I even get to go to the ch) and first dance. Good Times!!! Thanks!! Kristy

Re: Bustles??
I am going to bustle my gown for the cocktail hour! I have an exteremy large train. I just went for my first fittings this morning and its 7 button!!!! But my gown has a lot of bead work and we wanted it to show on the bustle. I went for the traditional bustle because of the bead work.

Re: Bustles??
You should bustle after the first dance. It's the last time you'll probably ever get to wear a dress with a train like a princess. You can duck out during the first course to bustle, and it shouldn't take that long. Just have your girls go to your last fitting so they can see how its done by the seamstress.
I think I'm doing a regular bustle. But I haven't gone for a fitting yet, so I'll make a final decision then.

Re: Bustles??
I had a 5 button traditional bustle at the waist. there was beadwork along the bottom of the train and it needed to be showcased (looked soooo pretty) and i bustled during the cocktail hour...made it sooo much easier to walk around after i bustled!

Re: Bustles??
I used the dancing loop for the first dance and then bustled it right after that.

Re: Bustles??
They say you bustle only after the 1st dance until then that is what the wrist stap is for, oh vey I'd like to bustle after coming back down the aisle, but my train is gorgeous....my bustle is button with elastic small straps (forget what you call them) and its hidden under the lace on the back of my dress, its sort of a bustled fold its pretty but boy is it heavy, had a trial run I swear my dress has much more weight on it now, balancing is going to be a feat!

OOOOh.... your icon is my bridesmaids' dress! (except in the papya silk shantung)
But, re: bustles:
I want the train as long as possible, so as late as possible! Then again, I got a dress with a huge bustle in bak already!
So, when I do bustle, it will be a french one 'cause that is what is already there. I think I might end up bustling my veil, too.

To Bustle of not to Bustle
Is anyone NOT bustling their dress? Is that dancing loop thing enough?
