i dont have the info you are looking for but i did experience this at a wedding... unfortunatley when we opened the little pyramid thing where the butterfly was, most of them were dead or didnt fly out at all..... so make sure you ask abt that... sorry!! just wanted you to know!!!!

There was a post about this recently...its pretty cruel to the butterflies, even if they don't die in the envelopes, butterflies migrate and releasing them in a foreign area can screw up their migration and they can die soon after the release.
I suggest not doing this

i did this.....i ordered from swallowtailfarms.com and they seemed very reputable. i did a mass release of 3 dozen butterflies. I was really nervous, but everything went well - they didnt leave the box right away but with a shake they all flew out! the people assured me that the butterflies would be ok - i did it as a memorial.

we did this at one of my BFFs weddings - she had the same problem - over half of the butterflies were dead and the ones that were alive were really shaky.

I think that if you decide to do this you need to make sure it´s from a reputable place. I was considering doing this and posted about it the other day. I believe I included the name of the website I had found. A couple of wedding planners on other sites recommended them and the site seemed legit.
I´m trying to do a search but I can´t. My computer has been acting funny today. You can try to search for posts by me that say butterfly and see if it comes up. If not I will look for it tomorrow.
