I would love to do either a butterfly or a dove release after my church ceremony.
Which one would you do?? I heard bad things about butterflies (that they suffer and a lot of them die in the box)..I don't want to do that to them...but it really looks pretty...

Re: Butterfly or Dove Release????
I would do the dove release. I've seen both done at weddings before. The butterfly release did not work out so well. Most of the butterflies were dazed and stayed in the box. Here are two pics from weddings I've been too. You can see the difference between the dove and butterfly release. HTH...
Thank you!! The doves do look pretty. I think I will be going with them!!!!

Re: Butterfly or Dove Release????
I don't like the doves bc only the B&G get to release those. With the butterflies everyone gets to partake. Besides my FH's mom is really into butterflies so if we were to do either that's what we would go for. JMO!!

You release them, and they are trained by their owners to return. Very pretty, we're using them

I'd say butterflies, because I don't understand... what happens to the doves and where do they go after you release them?
(I never understood this.)

Re: Butterfly or Dove Release????
warning: we had a memorial this summer and decided on a butterfly release. Some of the butterflies were dead. Needless to say, it was very depressing for a memorial and a lot of people were upset by it.

Re: Butterfly or Dove Release????
if you do the butterflies, be sure to follow all the instructions carefully... there are certain temps they have to be kept at and I think they need to go to a warmer temp a certain amt of time before release to prevent the 'dazed' effect....
Someone who did this successfully at her wedding posted on this awhile back if you want to search.

Thank you. I am going with doves. It is more safer than butterflies...don't want them to suffer....
