butterfly release? Dove release?

butterfly release? Dove release?

Has anyone ever seen a good experience seeing a butterfly release? How about in June? I have only heard horror stories.

What about a dove release? Is it fun? Or do they poo?

I have seen the Butterfly and IMO it was not for me. It was pretty, but most were dead and squished on the floor.

How sad

My parents did a dove release YEARS ago when they got married. It looked pretty in pictures.

i'm afraid i've only heard horror stories too...especially in June when it could be very hot, I've heard lots about dead butterflies and sick birds. but if you can find a reputable company you can probably get good references. sorry....

I have seen a butterfly release and it has been a horrible experience. They end up dying in the cases or they have not developed.

As for the doves, my sister had the doves and it was wonderful. Even though the weather was a bit misty out they were still have to release them, but I don't think they release them if the weather is bad.

My boss told me a story about a friend of her's.

The story goes....
Her friend was given a bag when she entered the church but did not know what it was. They were told not to open the bag until the end of the ceremony. So she waited. She played, threw, and sat all over the bag. Turns out, it was a butterfly inside. I don't need to explain the rest....

My friend had a dove release at her wedding and it was beautiful.

I've never seen a butterfly release but my BM has. She said the butterflies were either already dead in the box or ended up on the floor. I'm thinking, how could a butterfly survive in a box???

So sad

I don't want to stomp all over someone's big day, but really - even if it goes well, do you want to be the bride that caged up and used living creatures for your amusement? It just seems like bad wedding day mojo to me. ESPECIALLY if it goes horribly wrong. It would ruin my day.

hate to say it, but I agree completely.....

I just think animals shouldn't be used for displays.... fish in centerpieces, butterflies and birds being released.

I don't think it's necessarily a good thing to see critters 'escaping' your wedding....

A LIW vendor, is a lady who uses her own birds that are trained. She asked specific questions as to where and the time to make sure her birds would be able to handel the situation. The birds return home after they are released. They are trained.
