Re: buying a condo
You should contact the realtors contacts first. I would deal w/ a reputable realtor also (Century21, Prudential..etc). Most of the time if you deal w/ their inhouse mtg co. they will work with you better since they get most of the referrals from them. Unless you know someone, then go for it! (This is my experience being a Realtor as well.. Yes I have many jobs! lol)
If you guys are serious about putting offers down, you will need a Pre-Approval, (not a Pre-Qualification). A Pre-Approval is much more important to the other party listening to your offer. It tells them that the Mort. Co did all the credit runs, and checks on your income, employment, etc. And that you are prepared to go ahead. They will take you more seriously.
If you have any other questions let me know, I'll help you out! Good luck with your move!!

Re: buying a condo
when we bought our house, we used an outside mortgage person because the in-house guy didn't offer us the best rate. check with friends or co-workers in the area to see if you can get recommendations - it never hurts to shop around!

Re: buying a condo
I am a mortgage Officer for Georgia. They will probably try to stick it to you. If you would like any help with any questions, or anything let me know. I can only do in GA, but I know how all the companys run and I can tell you if they are sticking it to you. I recommend using a mortgage company your realtor has a business relationship with.
