I am going to start looking for a new job b/c I cant take working at this co for much longer. So I would like to buy a new interview suit that looks great but does not cost me an arm & a leg. I am also a plus size so I have a hard time finding suits. Any suggestions from all you wonderful LIW girls?

Re: Buying an interview suit
Macys is my staple for business suits (I wear them everyday to work). But this weekend I went to Casual Corner in the Broadway mall and got some cute suits and pieces for really good prices. Everything was 25% off -even the reduced items. I know they have a petitie and a plus sized store attached as well. Too bad they didn't have my size in everything I wanted.

Dont knwo if they are still around. I bought 2 of my suits at Annie Sez. They were so cheap. I bought a skirts suit for $30 on clearance,a nd another one for $90 there. There was one on Commack.

The only decent suits and professional clothes for larger sizes I have found is at Macy's. The other stores may be cheaper, but IMO, the clothes just don't look as professional. This is one area where you may have to bite the bullet and splurge a bit.

I just got two nice suits at Ann Taylor and they were on sale. I think they carry up to a size 18 now. Don't know if this helps.

I don't think an 18 in Ann Taylor would be a plus size, probably a misses 18.

Isn't Lane Bryant geared towards plus size women? I think you'd be able to find a nice suit there. Good luck with the job hunting!!

I needed a bunch of suits for my new job and I went to Lord & taylors, also macy's has a decent selection, Nordstrom has a couple but not many
Lord & taylors has a lot of sales - so does macy's look for coupons

I am so pissed off I cant even speak. Macys does not carry suits in plus sizes for women anymore b/c there is 'no call for it'! What! They have a whole selection for reg sizes. That is discrimination if you ask me.

Lane Bryant has no plus size suits!! I am right now between misses and plus size so it was very hard for me to find things - found two suits - one at Kohl's and a really nice pantsuit at Sear's reduced $100!! I got them in a 16 though - don't know if that helps you.

Umm not sure who told you that but it is JUST not right. I just bought like 5 suits at the one in Garden city and the one in manhasset - where did you look - you must not have looked in the women's department. They had a lot to chose from. They had Jones new york, and lots of other suits great for interviewing.

Re: Buying an interview suit
I usually buy my suits at Lord & Taylor's, Ann Taylor but while I was unemployed I discovered Kohl's and Burlington Coat Factory.
I got a Tahari for about $100 and Kohl's had Norton McNaughtons for about $65 a suit.
