We received ALOT of amazing gifts at our shower, but still need the blender, and a few fine china pieces...my sister said not to buy anything yet because she thinks we may receive more registry items as wedding gifts.. but I was just kind of under the impression that registry gifts were only bought for the shower mostly. I was curious if anyone who is really close to their wedding or already got married could give me some advice here... did you receive any additional registry items as wedding gifts?

I'm not close to wedding time yet, but when my friends got married, they did receive a lot of stuff off their registry for their wedding.
Besides, even if you don't have all the items you want now, you are better off waiting because most places give you a discount after your wedding day.

Your family may also want to buy things for your birthday and holidays off your registry. So if you absolutely don't need right away I would wait.

i know i'm just so impatient! lol I have a pretty big gift card to use, so I may buy the little kitchen organization things that I will need tomorrow or thursday because macy's is having a big sale haha.. I'll leave all of the fine china pieces and big ticket items alone just incase they get purchased for the wedding

I was wondering the same thing. I'm thinking with te gift cards I would but stuff we would use everyday - such as our bowls for everyday china and our towels to complete te sets.
Everythig else I will just wait

And definitely don't forget that a lot of places will give you a discount after your wedding date, so don't jump the gun!! Lol. I've found that some old fashioned family members will buy gifts closer to the wedding. I know that impatient feeling though, I'm the same way!!

We did receive a few place settings of our china and goblets for the wedding. I'd wait until after the wedding is over and then decide. Like the other girls said, most places will give you a discount.

Wait. Macy's and BBB both give you a completion discount good for about 6 months after your wedding.
For fine China, I waited until Macy's had a good sale. I spoke with a women in the registry department and she even called me when it happened. Fine China goes on sale either buy one, get one free or some sort of free accessory PLUS completion discount.

I would wait! The day after my shower we ran out and bought a garbage pail and paper towel holder bc we needed it, but I'm waiting until after the wedding to buy anything else, plus I went on my registry the other day and like 6 more things were purchased off of it. I'm not sure if I will get these things at the wedding or if they were purchased from people who couldn't make the shower, but I have received a gift in the mail since my shower! Your better off waiting :)

Personally, I would just go out and get the stuff myself lol. Because I am impatient :) :) and also I did not register for any china because my grandma has a whole set.

we got gifts from our registries in the mail from out of towners & guests that did not attend.
we also got 20% off after the wedding @ BB&B
save the gift cards for after!!

Definitely wait. My sister had gotten pieces of her china as a wedding present, plus as other people have said the completion discount!!!! Save the gift card until you are going to get the completion stuff. If there are some small things you really need now, go ahead and get it, but I would wait on the bigger items.

15% off for 6 months after, but I believe you can also use coupons with that.

I would wait. We got alot of gifts at the wedding. We also got gift cards too. Also I got a huge gift card from Macy's from the percentage of things bought from my registry. Also remember your work shower and maybe even his work shower. Good Luck!
