Buying Wedding Rings - Is there any reason to wait?
Hiya all. I noticed most people seem to be purchasing their wedding bands just a few months before the wedding. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy them sooner? Size shouldn't change, so probably not - I just wanted to be sure!

Only to save some stress I guess...
...I was picking up my ring 3 days before the wedding which made me a little panicky!!! We shopped for them in April for a May wedding, but we probably should have gone in March just to eliminate the stress factor!

Wedding Rings
Oh I just reread what I wrote and it wasn't clear. I meant sooner as in closer to now, not closer to the wedding! hehe. I feel like shopping for them, but my wedding is 11 months away!

Wedding Rings
My FI and I decided to shop for them with our tax refund checks that are coming in August - That will be 11 months before out wedding. I'm figuring the more I can get out of the way now, the happier I'll be come next year. Just think you'll have shower/ bachelor & bachelourette parties, invites, responses, and meeting all closer to the day of your weddings. Most of my friends would role their eyes saying, 'we still need to do the rings'. Taking all that into account, I'm doing it now while it seems fun to do rather than a bother!

I cant think of any reason to wait. Even if you're trying to time the gold market, jewelry prices never take drastic drops only increases. Funny how that works. We purchased our rings yesterday for 9/14. We use a jeweler in the jewelry district and knew he would had a very large inventory of styles and sizes. He had both our rings in our sizes. If we were ordering from a mall jeweler or Fortunoffs we would have had to wait 8 -10 weeks, so keep that time frame in mind. Happy Shopping

Buying Wedding Rings - Is there any reason to wait?
We're ordering our matching ones in early August, my diamond band is ready, although it was supposed to take until the 1st week of August. I didn't want to have them any sooner than 2 months because of budget reasons, and, I'll want to wear them now!!

Kathi* I want to wear mine too!
So Im not alone. I got a diamond band and a plat. band I think its 4mm. Last night I kept trying different combinations of the three rings. I love the way they look together. I think I am on wedding overload right now.

Take your time...
If you don`t see sizing as being an issue, there really isn`t any reason to wait. But definitely take your time, since you have it, to find what you really want. As previously mentioned, though, keep in mind that if a ring has to be ordered, it can take some time for it to come in. Luckily both my fiance and I didn`t have to wait. He purchased his straight out of the counter at Fortunoff, and mine was resized in just over a week at The Karat Shop in Huntington. But it is true .. when you get them, you will want to wear them! :)Welcome New Vendors
